Benoire:

I refer back to earlier posts about Albons comment when he drove the RBR.  How many drivers have they chewed through since Riccardio left?  I still believe that they have kinda dialed in the car to max's preference and that is a 100% twitchy front end that no one else can or wants to drive... I wonder if they dial back away to something that both drivers can achieve with, Max won't be as fast?  Either way, RBR have an issue and Lawson is necessarily it... I think Tsunoda will also suffer badly given how nice the RB seems to drive.

Often hear this, but each car can have its own stiff or softer suspension (faster bit more tricky vs slower but stable) and front and rear wings for more balance, more or less front end, more or less top end speed vs corner speed. Wonder if Max is talking to Liam via video replays explaining how he goes after each entry and exit, and tyre management? or likely, sorry that's a privacy matter for me...

This is promising. More emphasis on supporting Liam and finding out how to help him. As in, he is good enough, lets try to unlock that

Yes they can dial in the car somewhat but they do not have a completely different geomtry or suspension configuration for each driver.  Both cars are built from the same 'plans' and are equal so if the overal direction for aero + mechical favours the style of one driver, then the second driver may not do as well.

Logically RBR have gone through enough drivers to that are doing better than when in the RBR that something must not be working right with the car for all drivers.

And it seem to come about when Sergio had issues. He was very good, fast, reliable, aggressive, then he went to toast. Later the RB20 also was heading to the toaster, latter half of 2024. To me that is a reasonably clear pattern.

I think/hope that Liam will be faster in the Racing Bulls car than he is in the RB car.

A great 1-2 for McLaren, they are going to take some effort to beat to both titles this season from what we've seen so far. Is that sequence of corners, one through four, the worst in all of F1 currently? Just a couple of roundabouts and about as enjoyable to drive I'd imagine.

Man, Lawson, where to start. Another pitlane start, what the bleep is going on with that side of the garage. Absolutely zero opportunity to get any cheap passes off the line from there, just screwing up his race before it he's even had a chance to put his foot on the gas. Ended up being classified 12th after the DQ's but his goose is looking cooked unfortunately.

Red Bull holding an emergency meeting this week to decide Lawson's future presumably. Horner not committing to the Kiwi being in the car for Suzuka. Makes a mockery of the decision-making process if they axe him so early and of the repeated statements, from Horner particularly, that they needed to give Liam time to bed in. They must have considered that things might go pear-shaped when they promoted him surely. And, that they might need to hold their nerve accordingly as the data showed Liam was the right choice to begin with.

The internet throwing up plenty of 'rumours' this morning, the most ridiculous being that Colapinto is going to VCARB to plug the gap left by Lawson's complete axing from Red Bull. Surely Flavio is not going to entertain that, they paid too much to get him and Red Bull are not going to be winning enough prizemoney this season to offset the expense.

Red Bull have to stay the course with Lawson but it does seem like the axe is about to fall. Easier for Red Bull management to do that rather than concede their car is actually crap and nobody can drive it anywhere near the front of the grid except Verstappen in god-mode. It will be a hospital pass if Tsunoda gets the seat but at least we will get an answer finally on just how good he is.

Did you read that mainly from Stuff (as I did) ?  https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/article/horner-addresses-speculation-that-lawson-could-be-replaced-at-red-bull-for.1BEWtA3U4uMyzPeAXxRdLO gives a direct Horner response.

One of the things to come out of this current cluster-f is actually how supportive Max has been of Liam. He has said in the media that his door is always open for Lawson, and the Kiwi has several times made the point that Max has treated him well and offered advice. Maybe he gets to ride Verstappen's fancy jet back to Europe and they can discuss the issues.

As it seems Red Bull operates on the basis of the Verstappen's say "jump" and Horner/Marko say "how high", Max may become Liam's biggest ally in all of this. If he suggests that Red Bull are not giving the kid a proper chance then I don't know how they don't listen. Particularly with all the rumours swirling around Max wanting to jump ship for 2026. They will be extremely motivated to keep him on-side as, without him, their dog of a car and potentially crap new home-built PU in 2026 could turn them into also-rans next season.

Thanks for that td, no, I hadn't caught up with that F1 article, I was too busy getting wound up on Liam's behalf on here after the crappy ride he's had so far at the top team! It does make it sound a bit more encouraging from what Horner has said there, I do hope he is a man of his word. The elephant in the room is still the car though, shouldn't be that hard to extract the second tier performance from it, even in the hands of Verstappen.

I think Red bull would be absolutely screwed if max left.   Especially if they're taking some of the similar design decisions for the new cars for next year.

It might be a Mercedes length of time to re-engineer a car that isn't so picky to drive.  It's almost like a fly by wire plane, which are aerodynamically unstable.   This car seems like that, and max being a robot is the only one that can deal with it......even then he complains a bunch how unstable it is.

They'll just copy VCARB and call it a day...that's what a B team is for...

So..... Lecerc and Gasly got Disqualified for being underweight and too much skid plate missing on Hamilton's car.

Lawson ended up 12th and ahead of Tsunoda.

Yeah, I often feel when I'm posting that I'm sticking up for Liam no matter what. Fact is there are reasons why his results are not matching his 11 race double stints. RBR talk about supporting Liam who is struggling, and bypass the car issues
