CYaBro:

I'm a bit worried now that we just played our final, similar to the last world cup.
Didn't play well at all in that final after a tough, close semifinal win.

We are a nice side, but we are not India, ENG, or AUS, but we certainly have our moments. The last World Cup was what it was. If BMC fires we can win, if he doesn't we won't. Its the same now. Our bowlers and fielders are matching the top 3 nations, our batsmen aren't. If Guppy and Munro can relocate down the order, we have a chance to win if they do well and we have a good day.

EDIT If we bat like we have for the last 8 games, we will be grabbing our boarding passes at over number 40, it will be a drumming. Cricket is a numbers game and thats what would happen

Thanks for that - kinda hoped theyโ€™d screen it on Prime, so good to see itโ€™ll be available in all its SD glory. Work on Monday may be a bit trickier now...

Cricket's all about stats right.  Statistically speaking Guptill is due for a massive one.  I predict he'll get 112 of 78 balls in the final. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yes, it can happen. Prior to the CWC the rage was 350+ games, which was all rubbish. Its full of top bowlers and slow and/or swinging pitches, so i don't anyone will get that RR. Its been proven over and over that a slow start works. If Guppy got 65 at any RR and Munro got 60 from 30 then thats par. Not everyone will get a score but when every game is a two batsmen game as they all have been thats a 10 over whitewash coming. I think he feels the need to be scoring at a 90 RR? India looked more than likely to run us down last night as they got to the 45th over. Yet they were super super slow starting. Guppy needs to get what he can no matter how slow it is

So the only option to watch it legally in NZ is in SD on Prime? Is it 1995? :(

The Twitter post said it would be on sky sport and prime. Seems a great gesture from.Sky.

Apologies, my mistake. I assumed it was known that its on Sky Sport, the key point was the now to be free telecast on Prime

Watched it over here in Ozz last nite on CH9. The 9 sports commentary team wrote off the BCs when their innings finished but soon changed their tune when India was 5 for 3. They were talking about a NZ Vs AU final.

SD for Freeview peeps.  HD for Sky peeps.  So Sky peeps without Sport will get it in HD.

One thing I liked, was the interaction between the Indian spectators and the Black Caps after the game. We all want to win, but how you playcthe game does matter. You dont see much of that these days. Remember 2015 in the SA semi? Stuff like that matters.

Replace Nichols with Munro, open with Kane and Latham, then Taylor then Guppy. Munro when it suits us.

Have AUS lost a couple of players? ENG is favourite for the semi, so maybe AUS for us. Like to avoid Starc though

Shhh dont suggest putting your #3 in to open, the purists will freak out. But I agree.

Although Id have Latham/Williamson and leave Nichols out.

1. Latham

2. Willliamson

3. Taylor

4. Guptil

5. Munro

6. Neesham

7. Blundell (keeper)

8 Santner

9 Henry

10 Fergy

11 Boult

That is a hell of a middle order, Williamson is basically opening anyway as you suggest. Give Guptil a break to find his form and Munro has the highest 1st class and t20 average of the entire team, so you have fast scoring from 4 all the way to 8. If the top 3-4 get us to 40, with the above, all of those players are capable of bringing NZ home with 150 from 10. You have Munro also as a bowling option to share Neeshams overs.
