I think we'll lose tonight as per the TAB odds but I hope it's not one sided like in 2015.  For some of us, we may never see a New Zealand team in a final again - it took 40 years to see the first one.  Might be another 40 years from here.

I might give up cricket watching after this and end on a high note.  That semi final against India was the best live sporting event I've seen however I felt like I was seriously on the edge of a nervous breakdown during it. It was just so tense.  I was actually shaking part way through it.  And by the time Big MS was run out, i was catatonic.  I watched both days live and then watched the full replay that was shown immediately after the live event finished.  I didn't even bother going to bed until the next evening.

That game washed away the painful memories of the 1992 semi-final against Pakistan where we seemed to have it and then it slowly slipped away.  I watched the highlights of that match today on Youtube - the first time I've gone near that match in 27 years.  I felt I finally could.

All the best for a great evening.

Calm down, its just a game!  I get more bothered by the pre game hype and post game excuses in many sports these days.

Admittedly as our openers dont exist, I'm not on the edge as that makes it a very difficult game. It would already be tough if they were opening well. A non 2015 would help! But I can see ENG needing to battle nerves. Its one thing being a raging favourite, but a couple of balls as in the India game when they lost their openers turns the game on its head. All bets are off then.

The Black Caps have already exceeded my expectations. Whatever happens in this game they can hold their heads up high for getting to the final.
Win or lose I just want them to play well.
Unfortunately I have an early start in the morning, so.....I.......must.......turn........the.......tv........off.........now......

Falling away now, Taylor out but it was high, so not out, but ref called it out, no review. It always looked high. It takes the edge off when Taylor is back in the dugout due to an error.

For sure. But we are. Real downer we lost Taylor when he wasn't out, then when bowling we got LBW, it hit wicket on the ref review but it doesn't count as umpire called it not out. What a BS rule. In any case we are getting chances and not taking them, dropped catch. But just took Root, so if we can get Bairstow the three openers are gone. Like India but later on. 59/2 after 16

Bairstow gone, chopped it on, 71/3 after 19. Looking a lot like India, the required RR is edging towards 6. Its moving in the air and off the track. Pressure is on ENG

TAB has us 1-80, ENG 1-90 so we are now slight favourites. the basis is, these are the last two batsmen key batsmen, with plenty of runs still required.

Not looking forward to work tomorrow....

Gripping contest.  McCullum said during the NZ innings that 240 was competitive, he could be right.  Tough track to score on.  Pretty decent bowling from all the Caps.  CDG tighter than a duck's bottom. bet365.com now has thee odds at 50:50.  Game On.  Go Kiwis!!

Its India 2.0 Tough to bat on, so who scrambles better. Asking rate is 5.8. Not high but a tough track and running out of batsmen. We need to ensure they don't get into an accumulation phase
