Took the foot off? More like SL fixed steadied their ship after a poor start

id say not giving henry and milne another over and driopping a dolly was taking the foot off. nz should have had them all out for under 100. should have been 40 odd for 7 wickets and 2 more overs might have seen another wicket. the last 2 tailers i doubt would have piled on another 60.

Good to see Milne back though. And Henry I said should have replaced our all rounder in Australia. Bats and bowls. Definitely need that with no batting from bracewell down.

lol how not to ramp one.

189, should be a doddle. But SL being 27-5 would have taken that score given the option. At least it provides some entertainment for the paying public.

NZ are in a conundrum with Nesham out having someone fill that all rounder spot, they said santner was the specialist number 6. i guess you cant include craig given they santner and williamson (normally i mean). Cant have 2 spinners and I dont think Santners good enough to be included on his batting alone. Outside him everyone else is either very average at batting or very average at bowling. Despite his economy in ODIs I think McClenaghan is our only all rounder. Has a good SR in bowling but costly, but at least averages above 20 with the bat. If Nesham recovers the disc issues it will be interesting to see if they stick with Santner.

NZ's foot certainly back on the pedal. 82/0 after 8 overs.

Perhaps because it is no longer a gentleman's game, it's a commercial activity involving some cricket teams...

5 more of these. Hope Sri Lanka at least put up a challenge for a few of these games.

Oh this is another ridiculous game 81-8 SL, they could have done the crowd some respect at let NZ bat first.

We really need Aus and NZ just to play each other all summer, the only team close to our ability. Although we flapped up over there, should have been 1-1 and draw at the least, we threw away the adl test and we could have won the waca test. Still if we beat them 2-0 here the trophy is drawn.

Another 6 ODIs like this before the aussies arrive, its just not cricket.

4 more of these is ridiculous. Maybe they could leave early and save us the torture. Then 6 against Pakistan. Not sure how they're going today go.

well we beat them 2-0 before the WC last year so id say similar to SL but hopefully better.

i think NZ and Aus should just ask WI and SL if they want to swap tours?

2.2RPO Req, going on the 11RPO from NZ the other day, I cant see this lasting more than an hour or so.

i hope they leave some grass on the aussie Test at hagley, otherwise we are curating to the aussies strength.

i thought Ish bowled well in his short stint today, and he can bat tests. id go him over craig, find a real batsman and let go of slantner when nesham is fit again. how about that catch from slantner though, incredible and unlike most people trying to make it look even better he used both hands. could play goalie in football.

S-L should say sorry and go home, they are a disgrace.

Plus, their 'form' begs the question of whether or not they are playing as well as they could if they put their minds to it.

I mean, look at the bowling to Guptill. Rubbish bowling letting him get close to a record all time fastest fifty and then all of a sudden, two good deliveries come out of nowhere to hold him back a little - just two singles off the two balls - and then gift him the fifty in 17 balls. Was there a lot of betting on a 17 ball fifty?

What's worse is he was dropped on the first ball of their innings too. It's pretty painful. I've watched most of the Windies in Oz, it's disappointing, one of my enduring cricket memories is watching Walsh and Ambrose in their prime at the SCG in the mid nineties.

Yeah I gave up on the WI test series.

But, SL have turned their team around and absolutely smashing us 10 RPO, i can see them winning this one unless we get to matthews fast.

NZ have been horrible. Game over really. Sri Lanka have just been way too professional in the run chase. 2 down now, but 68 runs, doddle.

I think Mccullum retired way to early for the good of the team, young players coming through needed his style of play for a couple of more years like Latham etc. Not hard feelings though Mcc has been a great ambassador and good bloke for nz. I just feel we are going to fall back into Fleming era cricket (yawn)
