Did anyone else watch the Champions League QF between underdogs Atalanta of Italy & perennial underachievers Paris St Germain? An absolute lesson in playing until the final whistle blows.

Even though Brazilian captain & world's most expensive transfer Neymar put in a career-best performance, setting new all-time CL records in players taken on & dribbles completed (16, previous best ever 11), PSG & their superstar cast including #2 most expensive transfer Kylian Mbappe, could not score. Atalanta led 1-0 from the 26th to the final minute of regular time when Man of the Match Neymar laid on the equaliser for fellow Brazilian Marquinhos. 1-1 & with only injury time to go, suddenly the game was alive.

Just 2 minutes later, PSG's French strikers combined as Mbappe's sweet assist for Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting - who 2 seasons ago was a bit-player for Stoke City when they were relegated from the EPL - to score the most important goal of his career, & advance PSG to the Champions League semi-finals for the first time in 50 years.

A genuine showpiece for the world's premier club trophy. Skills, teamwork, stunning result.

Just like the famous '99 Manchester United victory over Bayern Munich, knockout football is played until the very end.

I watched Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer score in that match. Peter Schmeichel went berserk. I just sat there mouth ajar.

I don't like Neymar and Mbappe. 99% falling over (half the time nobody touches them) and 1% skill in terms of what they do over 90 mins.

I saw the end of this game and the Poor fellas from Atalanta were clearly gutted.

But you're right - it's drilled into kids from an early age - ply to the whistle...and that includes the final whistle.

2 of the best players in the world. Neymar will probably be Messi's replacement at Barca.

That golden couple minutes & John Terry's hilarious slip in Moscow are 2 of my top MU moments of all time.

Neymar seems to have taken a new attitude into his football recently, his theatrics aren't anywhere near as prevalent - probably because refs weren't blowing for him so much. His display yesterday was absolutely astounding. I haven't seen dribbles like that since R9, the original Ronaldo. Neymar is not a genius talent like Ronaldo or 'dinho yet, but he's fast approaching.

A comparison of the money game involved - Neymar's salary is €36.8 million (NZ$66.4), the entire Atalanta squad is on €36 million between them.

But he needs to have the cheating and petulance beaten out of him by a strong coach.

He's no Messi and not quite a Ronaldo.

Flopping and acting and moaning does not make you world class. It makes you annoying and at worst a cheat.

I'd like to watch the next matches - how do I (legally) watch them?

Does it come with sky sports pack or is it extra?

edit - the sky page says it comes with the basic sports pack. what a shame my hyper modern LG tv doesn't have the sky sport app.

First time since 2005 that neither Messi or Ronaldo will be in the CL semi finals.
