I don't see how a Koru lounge is going to help you with that.

You don't see because you don't know my situation.  I have strategies, I'm looking for options.

@gehenna I don't know your circumstances but for me I do not believe that Koru helped manage my condition when travelling. In some ways it made it worse due to limited and cramped toilets. The food areas were a pain for me to reach and the Lounges more than not meant more negotiating around the terminal to get to boarding etc. Air travel is always a balance of pain and pleasure with the scales tipped firmly on the pain side. I much prefer travelling by car in NZ any day than making international flights or longer national flights. It usually takes me a couple of days to recover from a flight to or from Australia for example. I am absolutely dreading our flight to the UK.

Jeepers there's some judgmental sorts in this thread. "Plebs", really? Honestly thought we were above talking about people like that here.

So what if someone who doesn't quite fit ones personal criteria for entry enjoys a rare trip into the hallowed lounge? I'd expect staff to be managing any customers that are causing issues for other guests no matter who they are. Like many I've meet my fair share of obnoxious users in the Koru lounge and never once has it been the family with kids or boys on a lads trip - its always been the one looking down their nose that causes the most grief (business lady last time who got half sloshed and spilt her food and drink all over the couple enjoying the view, or the guy in the suit that costs more then my car who decided that our seats were better so took them when we went to get a drink the time before...).

My wife, kids (toddler and new born) and I will make sure we keep well out of sight when we travel later this year (on CC vouchers no less). I'll wear something business like and instruct the family not to utter a word.

My Koru fee is paid for by work. I wouldn't pay $100 of my own money for it. The kids aren't the problem in my experience. The worst behaved are the sort of plebs (typically in shorts and Hawaiin shirts about to travel to the Pacific islands) who think discovering the Koru lounge means they've "made it" somehow and proceed to make a mess everywhere, talk and eat loudly, and generally behave like total idiots. The other fundamental problem is that the lounges are way too obnoxiously full. In Auckland, in particular, I find it way more relaxing to be out in the general areas.

this. Youthful looking or teens with their friends and esp if they raid the alcohol fridge. Male female or whatever
