These people are cultists. Rational discourse is wasted on them. The best that can be hoped for is to contain them to prevent the infection from spreading even further.

I think Trump’s appeal is rooted in the dissatisfaction people feel with the political system, especially in the US. Trump has managed to present himself as a disruptive outsider who is bringing down the Establishment, and those who feel the system has let them down respond to that. 

Those lining up in front of government buildings with their ridiculous camouflage outfits and their penis-compensating military weapons are also those who have been most failed by a system that ignores their legitimate needs. They may look like cartoon caricatures, but their anger is very real.

I honestly don’t think there is an answer to this. I think it has already gone too far. There is at least a reasonable possibility that Trump will be removed one way or the other in the not too-distant future, and a more competent and nuanced administration will take over. But the anger of the Trumpists will not go away. They will simply crawl back under their rocks. Unless there is such a massive upheaval of business as usual in the United States that people like this can be given a genuine stake in the future of the country, any prospect for genuine healing is doomed.   

I see Dr Birx has joined the Trump alternative truth team at todays press conference.

Apparently the US mortality rate is the lowest of anywhere in the world. Which proves beyond doubt that she is actually on a different planet to the rest of us.

I was already depressed by the idiocy and sheer ignorance of half the American population but these last few posts have sent me into a very deep pit. 

If I believed in god I would say, God save America. I'm afraid nothing can save America, now.

You might try downloading it with y2mate. I just did and it worked fine, but I don't know if that bypasses the geoblock. In any case, I have it as a MP4. There are a lot of ways to see this.
