Trump captured zero faithless electors last time according to this and lost a couple:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faithless_electors_in_the_2016_United_States_presidential_election

Trump is more likely to lose a few Republican delegates than gain any Democrat delegates. No doubt team Trump will attribute any losses to the conspiracy theories.

I think it's more mercenary than turn-coat.

A turn-coat has some principals.

Los Angeles Times - Opinion: Trump’s election fraud allegations are absurd. Republican voters are buying them anyway

19 Nov 2020

  • A Reuters/Ipsos poll found that 52% of Republicans thought that Trump had “rightfully won” the election.

  • A Politico/Morning Consult poll served up an even more alarming result: 70% of Republicans don’t believe the election was “free and fair.”

  • A Monmouth University poll found that 77% of Trump supporters attribute Biden’s victory to fraud.

  • An Economist/YouGov poll found that 4 in 5 of Trump‘s supporters believe fraud changed the outcome nationally. ...

Jesus, he has some really dense followers. He could tell them the moon was made of cheese and they would argue it until they're blue in the face.

I think we've known this since the start 2020 if not 2016. Really nothing to see here

Of more concern is that his followers are just short of 50% of the US population according to a recent election result.

Does this not tell us something is totally out of wack in the US mind set that is in contrast with the rest of the western world.

The Washington Post - The Founders didn’t prepare for a president who refuses to step down, historians say

today

President Trump continued Friday to deny the results of the election, pressuring state officials in Michigan and Georgia to overturn the will of voters and increasing fears that he might refuse to cede power to President-elect Joe Biden.

But those looking to the nation’s Founders, or the Constitution they framed, for answers to such a crisis will come up empty-handed.

There is nothing in the Constitution about what to do if a president refuses to step down when his term expires, according to three historians and a constitutional law professor. ...

So why didn’t the founders plan for this particular scenario, of a president simply denying that he had lost an election? Because they couldn’t even fathom it ...

They couldn’t fathom two things: a person who had become president who was so utterly lacking in classical virtue that they would deign or dare to put their own interests above the unity of the country.

"And the second thing is, I think they couldn’t fathom how any president who would so vividly display disdain for the unity of the country, and mock and undermine the legitimacy of American democracy, why that person [wouldn’t have] already been impeached and removed from office.”  ...

[Quoting historian Jeffrey A. Engel, founding director of the Center for Presidential History]

Trump will not succeed in overturning the results of the election. But he will do everything possible to sabotage Biden and undermine his presidency as he lays the groundwork for a comeback in four years. It is my sincere hope that evidence of misdeeds will be found sufficient to charge, arrest and convict Trump so he is forced into the dustbin of history. If he is allowed to maintain control of the Republican party American democracy is definitely doomed.

umm let me get this straight - so the electors can cast vote for whoever the heck they want? so what's the point of the elections?

Won't happen. It's just more white noise.

There once was a loser named Trump
who voters decided to dump
he ranted and raved but couldn't be saved
they fired the miserable chump
