You know what makes Biden a good choice? He won! Any of the other candidates might not have. They all would have made adequate presidents (well, almost all), and they all had appeal to specific interest groups, but only Biden was well-regarded enough and bland enough to be acceptable to a broad spectrum of interests in a very partisan time. That makes him a winner.

I think just about any Democratic candidate would have won over Trump, so we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

This is precisely why we have elections, and why both sides accept the results. To keep the chaos at bay. The whole point is that you have a regular, ritual fight rather than fighting all the time. Once one side breaks ritual then you’re on the way to civil war. Once you break the rules then chaos ensues. What exactly happens? I don’t know. It’s chaos.

Wow! That is incendiary. Absolutely brilliant. It completely blows away all the self-satisfied smug superiority westerners assume when thinking of the 'third world'. Everyone absolutely should read this. It should be projected on the White House. It deserves a far wider circulation than it will get. Send it to your friends!

The circus is hilarious... "Giuliani releases statement distancing Trump campaign from lawyer Sidney Powell"

The president’s legal team was thrown into tumult Sunday when two Trump attorneys – Rudolph W. Giuliani and Jenna Ellis – released a statement abruptly distancing the campaign from a third attorney, Sidney Powell.

Giuliani, Ellis and Powell all appeared together at a news conference last Thursday where they made a range of baseless accusations about the integrity of the election. Powell in particular has been vocal in lobbing some of the most convoluted claims, alleging a conspiracy that involved “communist money,” the late Venezuelan president Hugo Chávez and an algorithm favoring Democrats.

“Sidney Powell is practicing law on her own,” Giuliani and Ellis said in their statement Sunday. “She is not a member of the Trump Legal Team. She is also not a lawyer for the President in his personal capacity.”

Two advisers to Trump, who asked for anonymity to discuss private conversations, said that the president disliked the coverage Powell was receiving from Tucker Carlson and others, and that several allies had reached to to say she had gone too far. The advisers also said that she fought with Giuliani and others in recent days.

Trump believed she was causing more harm than help, and (sic) official said. “She was too crazy even for the president,” a campaign official said.

Snip ... “She was too crazy even for the president,” a campaign official said.

Love the quote :-) (I didn't think it was possible)

Smart female prosecutor vs. stupid male conman - a bloodbath - but the Republicans would hate her for it, and vote for Trump.  🙃

A very poignant article.

[There’s a ticking bomb at the heart of your democracy now. Your government, the very idea of governance is fatally wounded. Chaos has been planted at its heart. I don’t know what this chaos will grow into, but I can promise you this. It won’t be good.]

It has been a long burning fuse since the sixties for the USA which may become the Fractured States of America (FSA) But now that the clock is ticking faster the world over for quite a few far right countries and those with large or growing far right groups.

Selfishness is growing faster. The Me Me Me society where checks and balances, morals and ethics, that once were taught from birth, at home, in schools, at workplaces and in social gathering places are disappearing. The instant society we now have is partly to blame because people are not engaging brain before fingers or mouth. It is straight to fingers and Send. Lets film the injured dying person and then straight to fingers and Send. Instead of brain to fingers dialling 111/911/000.

The majority of the Far Right don't think, they never have, mainly because they are under-educated and the few that are educated play along to protect their wealth and position, SO THEY FOLLOW like cows at milking time (sorry bovines). It is only those at the top with the huge ego's, the narcissists, the social psychopaths and the plain just power hunger high IQ's that fully understand this and USE IT to its fullest extent. They blind and deafen their followers with good oratory, lies, unfulfilled promises and what they know their followers want to hear and once the followers are blind and deaf they have won. And like sh*te on a blanket they cling on and are hard to remove.

End of Rant

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

One comment on that, the author has a bit of a chip on his shoulder about the US so you need to read his stuff with filters active. He's insightful, e.g. in his discussion of how Africa handles Covid19 better than the US does, but also a bit of a firebrand.

I don't know how Kamala would go, but Hillary lost because was she was not well liked by the public - not just because she was a woman.

Ditto Breitbart. Trump is absolutely faultless and perfect over there.

Hopefully it won't be long before Trump will be a distant memory, and this thread gets locked.I can't see him ever admitting he lost. Even when appearing on TV shows in the future.
