Also: https://www.salon.com/2023/04/24/egos-over-freedom-proud-boys-trial-proof-maga-will-pay-any-price-to-avoid-admitting-they-were/ "Sad boys" - are they what 😀

Loved this article.👏

Loved the idiom "bigotry whirlpool effect". It should be a notable psychopathic idiom.

I mean it is up there with the "Stockholm syndrome" where, in this case, Trumpians and Republicans use a coping mechanism to a captive or abusive situation. People develop positive feelings toward their captors or abusers over time, ie. Trumpians and similar Republican devotees.

AND lets not forget that the nacasistic pyschopathic Trump suffers from the Helsinki syndrome which is when your national leader is so captivated by a foreign adversary that he kisses his butt on live international television.

😀😀😀😀

Interesting you say that - he's actually said he wouldn't want to be president ever.

And when did you start believing anything he says?

He said so in an interview recently - although I'll be the first to admit that was while he still had a job at Fox.

Politico did a game-out today on the scenario you're suggesting: https://www.politico.com/news/2023/04/24/hypothetical-tucker-carlson-2024-campaign-00093608

Also saw a comment on Youtube that made me laugh, went along the lines of "Fox News will now be hiring George Santos to replace Carlson, in an effort to up their journalistic integrity" 😆

The far-right idiot who posted a video of a nonexistent beer has gotten his 15 minutes of fame, and will hopefully never be heard of again.

Of note the re-labeled beer he used Would have been around USD $6 to $8 wholesale, but would be sold for USD $45. The right certainly don't mind exploiting their own.

The Daily Beast: Brewery Immediately Dropped ‘Woke-Free’ Beer After Seeing Transphobic Ad

The brewery tapped to produce a “woke-free” brew for right-wing huckster Seth Weathers said it immediately dropped the contract after seeing the product’s transphobic marketing campaign.

Conservatives have been on the prowl for a new beverage-of-choice after Bud Light partnered with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney earlier this month—but are having trouble finding anyone to make it for them.

I think he did let the fame go to his head - but I'd still be interested to know the exact reason behind his leaving, and why it was so abrupt, given that he said "see you on Monday" on his Friday show and Fox were still running ads for his never-to-be seen Monday night show up until a few hours before he got the boot.

There's a lawsuit against Tucker Carlson personally for sexual harassment. I doubt that was even a consideration for Fox but who knows:

Fox is a defendant in the same suit.

The madness continues, in Texas:

NPR: The Texas Department of Agriculture is ordering its employees to comply with a new dress code, mandating they abide by it in a "manner consistent with their biological gender."

That is going to get silly, fast.

So absolutely NO trouser or long pant type ware for biological females.

Mmmm the female outside agriculture workers are going to be sooo happy.

Yep, I can attest to that having been involved in canning someone myself.

It is be very highly orchestrated, with at least two people, often three. One fear is even non-techie can, at the very least, send a unfavorable final company-wide email, or export files.

So the account is disabled shortly before someone shows up behind the desk, pressing the power button, or pulling the plugs from the wall.

Another person or two shows up with boxes and politely but firmly states "let me help you pack." They may not let them pack their own stuff, for fear of walking away with USB drives or printed materials.

I'd guess some Twitter employees got this treatment.

A good analysis of his demise (the lawsuit was mentioned but I don't know if it was a factor): https://morningshots.thebulwark.com/p/tuckers-demise

The NY Times - On Eve of Trial, Discovery of Carlson Texts Set Off Crisis Atop Fox

breaking

The day before Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation trial against Fox News was set to begin in a Delaware courthouse, the Fox board of directors and top executives made a startling discovery that helped lead to the breaking point between the network and Tucker Carlson, one of its top stars.

Private messages sent by Mr. Carlson that had been redacted in legal filings showed him making highly offensive and crude remarks that went beyond the inflammatory, often racist comments of his prime-time show and anything disclosed in the lead-up to the trial.

Despite the fact that Fox’s trial lawyers had these messages for months, the board and some senior executives were now learning about their details for the first time, setting off a crisis at the highest level of the company ...

The discovery added pressure on the Fox leadership as it sought to find a way to avoid a trial where Mr. Carlson would be questioned about the contents of the private messages they exchanged in the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election.

EDIT:  The Washington Post - For the Murdochs, Tucker Carlson became more trouble than he was worth  (26 April 2023)
