quickymart:  Does this mean he'll have to shut his big, lying mouth on Truth Social?

I presume you are referring to his warning by judge Moxila Upadhyaya - that if he fails to comply, a warrant may be issued for his arrest, the conditions of release may be revoked, and he may be held pending trial and receive a longer sentence. He could also be charged with contempt of court.

It's hard to know what to wish for πŸ™‚ - but I doubt whether he can resist having tantrums in public.

I am rapidly becoming a fan of judge Upadhyaya - born in India, raised near Kansas City, appointed by Obama, a hard-nosed "no nonsense" judge, and female - the last person that Trump would want to submit to.

Esquire: Judge Moxila A. Upadhyaya Has Warned Donald Trump. Slim Chance He Listens.

He's the Whitey Bulger of white-collar crime.

It's arraigning men. Hallelujah, it's arraigning men.

Forgive me my giddiness, but, if I weren't giddy, I'd be outraged. We're back to the empty podium days again, only, this time, it's an airplane. We had Kelly O'Donnell tweeting about the former president's airplane, and the usual Al Cowlings pursuit of the defendant's automobile. And Andrea Mitchell just said the former president is "playing this brilliantly in the political arena." I intend to finish my time machine, go back to 2016, and hurl myself into Niagara Falls.

Me? I preferred to monitor how the defendant and his people are continuing to obstruct justice.

So that now leads to the question, which came first, the Fox or the Trump:

Maybe (some) Republicans are finally starting to see sense? It's not like Trump would really be able to fight for their (read: his) causes or anything from inside a prison cell, is it?

Also I understand Devon Archer didn't really have any evidence connecting Joe in his son's business dealings as well. Yet another pointless Republican distraction πŸ™„

They forgot to include this section

"52% of Republicans won't commit a crime if there's a small chance they'll go to prison."

"52% of Republicans won't vote for Trump if dies, and becomes a zombie"

More worrying is that in both cases it (possibly) means that 48% of them WILL commit a crime & vote for Trump!

A preview of Trump's trial.

Dave Chappelle joking about his white friend driving a car.

Contains rough language. Not safe for work.

BBC News - Forced to wait by the judge, Trump is out of his comfort zone

Donald Trump is not a man used to waiting.

But at a court hearing in the nation's capital, the former US president found himself fidgeting in his seat while he waited 20 minutes for the judge to arrive.

In the meantime, he also stole furtive glances at Special Counsel Jack Smith, the prosecutor who has now indicted him in two separate federal cases.

In recent days, Mr Trump has raged on social media against what he calls a continuing "witch hunt" led by a "deranged" and "wild" Mr Smith.

But in the courtroom, he had to stay silent.

Judge Upadhyaya sent The Don a message - he may have to get used to waiting. Whilst wearing an orange jumpsuit.  πŸ˜‰

Do I think that Trump will get found guilty of any of these charges? Oh yes.

Do I think that Trump will go to jail if found guilty of any of them? Honestly? Probably not - as much as I think he deserves to.

The NY Times - Why It’s No Surprise That Trump Is Being Charged Under a Reconstruction-Era Law

03 August 2023

Of the four charges included in the latest federal indictment of Donald Trump, one - violating Section 241 of Title 18 of the United States Code - seemed to surprise many. It shouldn’t have. ...

Congress enacted Section 241 as part of the Civil Rights Act of 1870. The law addressed the rise of white supremacist groups after the Civil War, especially the Ku Klux Klan, which organized citizens and public officials to intimidate freed Black people to suppress their participation in the political process.

It empowered federal agents to stop these conspirators from depriving any Americans, in particular Black Americans, of the right to have a say in their government.

The Justice Department has charged Mr. Trump with doing exactly that: the government asserts in its detailed 45-page indictment that through his attempts “to overturn the legitimate results of the 2020 presidential election,” Mr. Trump conspired to “injure, oppress, threaten and intimidate” voters in exercising their “right to vote, and to have one’s vote counted.” ...

A big task for Smith and co will be proving that Trump knew he lost. If they can do that (and a few incidents point to tis being the case, ie, Trump knew) it will make Smith's job a little easier.

None so blind, etc etc.

Mark Twain nailed it. "It's way easier to con a guy than to convince him he's been conned."
