"If your constitutional rights have been violated we will defend you," Trump said. "If you have illegal aliens invading your home, we will deport you."

Accurate. Pretty much every time they have a big round-up someone doesn't bother with details and American citizens end up in jail or deported to the wrong side of the border trying to get back in. The only thing you can guarantee is any operation run by trumpsters is going to be ten times worse.

Trump is unable to access the stock, at least for now. That's because Trump and other company executives are subject to a so-called "lock-up" provision that bars them from selling the stock for at least six months. Such provisions are common in IPOs as a way to keep insiders from dumping shares immediately

I'm sure that would not stop him signing over most in some kind of deal to raise $175 million for that other bond as he undoubtedly did. Trump with $175 million in cash? Doubt it. Unless it belongs to someone else.

I would be looking at who is buying the shares....there could be for foreign nationals who are fuelling money to trump via that means...and it's not illegal.

Reuters markets calls it a trump-and-dump

Reuters Markets: TMTG's current valuation of approximately $6.6 billion is equivalent to about 1,600 times the loss-making company's revenue in 2023 of $4.1 million, according to LSEG data. No other U.S. company of similar market capitalization has such a high valuation multiple, the LSEG data shows. This is despite TMTG warning investors in regulatory filings that its operational losses raise "substantial doubt" about its ability to remain in business.

It briefly helps Trump a little, by making his balance sheet look better than usual ... but there is is a freeze on him selling the stock for now.

You could argue since he's facing so many civil payouts it actually hurts him, so prosecutor can put forward his inflated value and ask for larger payouts.

It's also funny to see a frustrated monkey try to get a treat out of sealed jar.

Quite a bit of Trump news overnight:

https://edition.cnn.com/2024/04/03/politics/trump-hush-money-trial-delay-motions/index.html >> he must be throwing anything at the wall (maybe tomato sauce?) to see what sticks and stop this trial

https://edition.cnn.com/2024/04/03/politics/poll-supreme-court-trump-immunity/index.html >> no, he doesn't deserve immunity, otherwise Biden could have him assassinated and then claim "immunity". Which, of course, would make a number of Republicans go absolutely ballistic. Does this nonsense even deserve a court case? Come on.

https://edition.cnn.com/2024/04/03/business/trump-truth-social-insider-trading/index.html >> no, nothing shady or dodgy going on with "Trump Media" at all here 🙄

https://edition.cnn.com/2024/04/02/politics/special-counsel-mar-a-lago-jury-instructions/index.html >> this sort of thing gives the appearance that Trump really has Judge Cannon in his pocket, or his corner at least.

That is literally what the appellate court hit his lawyer with when hearing the claim. The lawyer then said that yes that was absolutely OK as long as the president was not successfully impeached and convicted for it. I assume at that point the judge pointed at him/herself and said "This is my skeptical face". And then they published their thoroughly bulletproof opinion that no, the president does not have immunity.

And so of course the US Supreme Court decided they needed to delay the case weigh in on it too.

Bonus story: https://edition.cnn.com/2024/04/03/opinions/aileen-cannon-trump-mar-a-lago-case-eisen-perry-kolb/index.html

If Cannon isn't careful and Smith won't put up with her crap for much longer, she may just find herself removed from the case altogether.

Edit, just saw this too: https://lawandcrime.com/high-profile/rejected-and-returned-for-correction-docs-for-trumps-175m-bond-get-bounced/#disqus_thread >> hope he's not trying to delay payment now!

Oh please let it be true....

From Meidas Touch:

The COURT HAS REJECTED Trump’s purported $175 million bond to stop collection of the $465 million dollar fraud judgment because the unknown bonding company backed by the “King of the Subprime Auto Loan” didn’t provide its balance sheet to show that its solvent and made other rookie mistakes in the form of the bond. Does that mean that the NY AG can get back to collecting the judgment against Trump?

No, he simply failed to fill in some required details and can resubmit once he does. However ... one of the things he didn't fill in was a detailed financial statement. :-)

I'm assuming this is the financial statement from the "king of sub-prime car loans" making the bond.

Sub-prime means car loan arrangements for borrowers with a poor credit history, typically having unfavourable conditions such as high interest rates.

They want to know he can actually pay the bond.

Truly, an historic failure ... No one has seen a loss this big since the Trump Taj Mahal, the Trump Hotel, Trump steaks, Trump airlines, Trump University ...”

He tried once but he only got as far as 'Do unto others' before closing it without realising that it didn't go on to say 'before they can do unto you'.
