This thread is crazy, back to a normal thread, the Trump thread.
gzt:Aredwood: And since solar production doesn't align with peak demand
It aligns to an extent with demand peaks for some loads like air-conditioning for example.

MikeB4:No we have a Labour-NZ First coalition government with NZ Green support. You are correct, we have not had a National Government for sometime. We had National-NZ Maori coalitions. That is how coalitions work

Btw what's your point?
Point 1. Folks keep referring to the "Labour government" I was merely pointing out that we do not have a Labour government
Point 2. I was responding to your post concerning my post.
Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.
Well NZF have dropped under 5% and if election held today they wouldn't be in parliament. Long long may it last.

Based on policies it is more like a NZ First Government expenditure wise.
This is nothing to do with the likes of Simon Bridges, it is a matter between patient and doctor. His attitude will not help him regain the treasury benches in 2020.

That's your opinion. What about the people who oppose abortion?. I think it's good for them to have a voice in parliament too.
I think it's disturbing that our social legislative program in this country is all about killing people (euthanasia and abortion).
So some people will disagree with bridges, some will agree. However before this thread diverts to the never ending argument about legalized killings, if u want to debate that please set up another thread.
I was not discussing the pro and cons of a medical procedure I was raising in a political thread a political position stated by a politician in the public arena.

Abortion is some circumstances should be illegal. Bridges doesnt say he is against abortion, just that it should still be in the crimes act. I think abortions after a certain length of pregnancy should be illegal, just like backstreet type abortions should be.
Clearly there needs to be a whole new level of detail around this.

Agreed.
The crimes act treatment of abortion is what makes 'back-street' clinics illegal and sets out the specific exemptions under which abortion is legal. As far as I can tell from a quick read, it doesn't define a woman seeking an abortion for herself to be committing a crime
Surely we always want 'back-street' abortion procedures to be illegal - because of the risk they pose to women?
Somewhat analogously the crimes act sets out circumstances in which surgery is not an offence. In the absence of those sections surgery might be restraint, stupefying, assault, GBH etc.

Doesn't need to be in the Crimes act for that. Just like any other medical procedure are covered under acts dealing with that. That is where the rules and procedures around it should be spelled out.

Maybe you need to read the crimes act again...

Surgery is in the crimes act. Also unlicensed/backstreet abortions need to be prohibited by the crimes act - because they can cause serious injury, sterility, disability and death.
