On the popular vote, I think the issue that matters and should be taken seriously is not whether Trump won the popular vote, but the indisputable fact (not alternate) that he did, in any case, win a big chunk of it. A lot of people voted for him. That alone disturbs me.
Plesse igmore amd axxept applogies in adbance fir anu typos

The breakdown of Republican voters and Trump voters would be interesting.

Going after a child is extremely disgraceful.
As is using an unequal power relationship to "go after" any innocent defenceless human being.
Apologists for Trump attempting to use that as ammunition with which to shoot liberals are hypocrites.
One wrong does not justify another wrong. Never has. Never will.
I'm not an apologist for Trump.
I do think it is 'fair-game' to (by lawful means) go after any able-minded adult who criticises you publicly. Politics is not tiddlywinks. If you publicly criticise a politician, expect retaliation. I apply that to any politician of any ideology.
Genuinely aggrieved parties can always sue for defamation as at least two people successfully did against a high profile NZ PM.

This goes to explain why it is a Republic run by an electoral college system and not a pure democracy with a majority rules. It is there to protect some states from others.
In my humble (but frankly irrelevant) opinion, the president should be chosen by popular vote. Congress on the other hand, which is actually representative of the states and makes the laws, is the appropriate place for such protections.
FYI Clinton would be an awful president, much on par with Trump
I don't agree personally. I think she would make a great president and is a far better leader. Is she perfect? No, but she has done many great things for America - unlike Trump.

Also worth noting that Children are the most defenceless of all victims which to my mind makes it even worse. I don't think her apology is enough in this instance. I tend to be fairly forgiving and believe people make mistakes, but this one, wow.

I wasn't accusing you of being an apologist for Trump.
Balance is needed, one person at the centre of this (Trump) did, on multiple occasions, "go after" defenseless individuals and groups of people in a disgraceful way.
That out of many thousand people actively opposing Trump, some step over the line is inevitable.
That it's being used (this - and one or two other incidents) by the alt:right in an attempt to discredit opposition to Trump is (IMO) actually the biggest wrong here.
Why? - Because it causes the most harm.
Edit to add - if that's not the case (the unwise tweet or whatever it was attacking Barron becoming a meme for the alt:right) - then discussion about it in this thread is getting off-topic.

That's very precious under the circumstances.
Children are legitimate military targets, according to the POTUS.
"When you get these terrorists," Trump said, "you have to take out their families."
<and the crowd cheered>

I'm not buying into the outrage by conservative snowflakes on facebook and twitter about one misguided attempt at humour by somebody I'd never heard of. It's pathetic.

Young children should not be the target because of what their parents do. Anyone doing so will never get my support, it is a cowardly disgusting tactic.
Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.
