tdgeek: Once Palestinians, an indigenous people, are removed so the US owned state, and its Riveria is developed,

Removal of the population is very unlikely in practice at this point. All the countries in the region are opposed, and the rest of the world is for that matter.

Israel is likely to have an opportunity for historic regional recognition peace and normalization, with numerous regional countries led by Saudi Arabia, on the condition Israel recognizes the Palestinian state and expands the rights of Palestinians.

That won't be easy. Trump could well win the Nobel Peace Prize if things go that way.

A bit hard to reconcile when Israel went after Hamas (no issue there), supported by its best friend, USA, but that war on Hamas somehow destroyed men, women and children, schools, kinds, hospitals, water and power infrastructure, and essentially has levelled most of the buildings

Of course, its unlikely that Trumps plan sees the light of day, even though Netanyahu thinks its a good idea.

"Israel recognizes the Palestinian state and expands the rights of Palestinians"

Hasn't worked so far, and now the Palestinian state is a pile of rubble and coffins. The recognition if it occurred would be forced on Israel by normal nations, and be marketed as a great deal by both of them, T and N.

neb: I also suspect that at least some families of people who survived genocide 80 years ago would be upset to see their suffering being used as a get-out-of-jail-free card for a new genocide.

including some survivors..

Egypt is in the lead position of a regional plan to reconstruct Gaza:

Times of Israel: Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar are set to review and discuss the Arab plan before it is presented at a scheduled Arab summit that is slated to take place in Cairo on March 4, four sources with knowledge of the matter said. On Friday, a gathering of Arab state leaders, including Jordan, Egypt, the UAE and Qatar, was expected in Saudi Arabia, which is spearheading Arab efforts against Trump’s plan, although some sources said the date had not been confirmed yet.

Trump is said to be a supporter of the new plan. I have not seen anything to suggest the plan will address the deteriorating position of the Palestinians in the occupied territories of East Jerusalem and West Bank, and the deteriorating position of Palestinian Israelis within the borders of the state of Israel.

Jewish Voice for Peace protestors occupy the Trump Tower lobby on 5th Avenue. They are protesting the Trump administration's extra-judicial attempt to deport student activist and lawful resident Mahmoud Khalil.

Protesters say Khalil's wife was also detained. Khalil a graduate of Columbia University is married to a US citizen who is 8 months pregnant. The administration has no plans to formally charge Khalil with anything. The administration is attempting to remove him under a little known law claiming to allow removal of "migrants whose presence in the country are deemed by the U.S. Secretary of State [Marco Rubio] to be incompatible with foreign policy". A district U.S judge has ordered a temporary hold while the judge considers the constitutional validity of the order.

I wonder if the Niemöller reference was deliberate, "they come for the students first"?

The chief rabbi of the UK who is a strong supporter of the State of Israel decides against attending an official government anti-Semitism conference - because the Israeli government has invited numerous European far-right guests:

Times of Israel: In a statement, Mirvis’s office said that once he was “made aware of the attendance of a number of far-right populist politicians,” the British chief rabbi decided that he would “no longer be attending.” The conference guest list, released only in the past few days, includes Jordan Bardella, president of the far-right French National Rally party founded by noted antisemite and Holocaust denier Jean-Marie Le Pen; Marion Marechal, a far-right French member of the European Parliament and Le Pen’s granddaughter; Hermann Tertsch, a far-right Spanish member of the European Parliament; Charlie Weimers of the far-right Sweden Democrats party; and Kinga Gál, of Hungary’s Fidesz party."

Numerous guests have withdrawn from the event. The Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu is on the speakers list along with Israeli president Isaac Herzog.

If recent reports in the last week are anything to go by with the food has completely run out the population will starve in Gaza and then the IDF and settlers will continue in the West Bank.

Louis Theroux documentary The Settlers shows the underlying intention to eradicate all Palestinians from their ancestral homeland. And that has now just been accelerated due to the horrific attacks from October 7th. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002bm1y

The issues here are horrendous

We all know why Putin wants Ukraine. What he is doing is illegal etc

Israel is a supposedly first world country, friendly with the US, yet they are doing arguably the same or worse than Putin. Worse in fact. Lets say we are targeting Hamas, but actually level the country including the people, so they can annex the country. Even the US is happy to make it a Middle East Riviera.

US is scared and being tapped by Putin(Trumps words). US is not scared of Israel as they are friendly, so by inference, is accepting of the genocide in Gaza/Palestine

EU is wanting to target Russia and Israel. US administration is shameful.

I disagree with you somewhat in regards to the EU's intentions with Israel. I don't see any meaningful pressure being applied from any EU nation state or the UK in the way of sanctions. The UK has continued to sell arms to Israel and Germany routinely imprisons anyone critical of the genocide.

The fact any criticism of Israel is automatically labelled antisemitic says everything about how the word continues to be used in a very perverse way.

I have been wondering who is paying for this war. The $$ costs must be horrendous, and who is responsible for paying for the reconstruction assuming Israel allow it to happen by exiting the area and ignoring the crap Trump is saying. To construct anything to house the displaced Palestinians has to be lots of $billions.

Israel is attacking Hamas. In reality thats an excuse to attack Palestine. Same as Putin, attack schools, kindergartens, hospitals, apartments. Once Hamas are "gone", Palestine becomes annexed to Israel. With US support. Not unlike Ukraine, also with passive US support.

It's abundantly clear to anyone that the end goal of the Israeli Government from multiple senior members of their government and IDF is to completely clear Gaza of all if it's inhabitants and relocate them to anywhere else including the afterlife. So anyone that doesn't think it's genocide is either blissfully unaware or intentionally ignoring the ethnic cleansing and indiscriminate extermination of the population.

The Israeli Government have then made it clear that once they have finished with Gaza their intention is to do the same with the West Bank and onwards as far as they can go.

It's sad that "never again" was just slogan, as a genocide is happening right now being live streamed to those who care to look.

Palestinian UN envoy breaks down in tears as US vetos Gaza declaration in Security Council. This is a thousand times worse than Ukraine. How our government can still be simply standing by not even doing the symoblic little bit we can is gobsmacking.

And the daily deaths of Palestinian civilians in attempting to get any food in Gaza continues with the GHF at the helm of the assassinations. Especially after Netanyahu gave guns to gangs in Gaza.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rafah_aid_distribution_killings

And I watched this yesterday and much as I dislike Piers Morgan I find the fact he is one of the few English journalists genuinely holding Israeli spokespeople to account is quite refreshing.

The particularly ghoulish lie of all the lies told by IDF representative Jonathan Conricus was that Gazans were Fat, that was quite something.
