Yesterday Trump suffered a prominent resignation from his evangelical council:

Trump doesn't need evangelical advisers - he's the son of Christ.

Really.

The gracious thing would be to resign, but this at least is a small step in the right direction.

In an ideal world perhaps, but ask yourself this.

If you were Donald Trump, do you think you would resign?

Yes, if I thought there was a high likelihood of getting impeached. I would frame the narrative to state I was resigning because I couldn't MAGA because of an obstructionist Senate and Congress, reminding my followers that the swamp was far too deep to drain.

I'd spend the rest of my career making money on the speaking circuit as the "Most Successful President in the history of the United States*".

I wonder if Kellyanne will find a way to explain that this is really an alt spelling and it is considered perfectly correct in medieval Friesland.

Excellent point(s), but we are not far enough into this farce for Trump to stand down so early in the piece. Historically his battles have lasted (legally) for years and he is not used to backing down at the first sign of legal interruption.

But every person needs an exit strategy and I am quite sure that you are right. Trump will have his.

I'll give Trump the benefit of doubt here.

This reminds me of the cartoon "Pinky and the Brain"

Brainy mouse has departed back to Breitbart - to plot to take over the world.

Pinky mouse (orange tint) is trying very hard to be nice.

Can't wait for the next episode.
