I wonder though, how many kiwis know our national anthem

How many are loud-mouthed, self-important, narcissistic, corrupt, blame-shifting, mendacious, greedy, intolerant, evil  leaders of their country?

It says a lot about Trump that he (now) knows the national anthem, but not "God bless America."

He got a lot of grief because he didn't know the National Anthem at a football game In January. So he would have seen those jokes on TV, and actually learned it.

But he hadn't try to sing "God bless America" in public, so no jokes about him attempting it yet.

As usual, all he had to do was read the program or ask what songs were going to be played, and then he could be prepared.

A comic video from January

Apropos to being prepared, a tweet from Trump before becoming ...holding back vomit in throat ... president.

Rudy is a genius. Because that's what you say before a summit where you're trying to negotiate some terms to end some warmongering action.

CNN - Another day, another clemency - what Trump's pardons are really saying

extracts:

Since being sworn in as President 16-plus months ago, Donald Trump has pardoned or commuted the sentences of six people, a pace that could pick up rapidly in the not-too-distant future.

Trump's pardons to date fall into two basic categories:

  •  Perceived victims of an over-aggressive and/or corrupt "deep state" and
  •  Pet causes of famous people.

In each case, an out-of-control and/or politically motivated Justice Department had railroaded a conservative hero. Sound like anyone you know?

The more pardons Trump offers up to people who further that narrative - see, all these people are victims of the "deep state" too! - the easier it is for the President to convince his core supporters that whatever Mueller's report says is fundamentally illegitimate because it is a product of the same "deep state" that convicted these other conservative heroes.

Looks like a short meeting, no real need to take a seat   ""They have to denuke,'' Trump said of North Korea. "We cannot take sanctions off" "Trump predicted that he'll know very quickly whether Kim is serious about dealing with US demands." " It's about willingness to get things done.''

My mistake, I thought it was a meeting, diplomacy, negotiation for peace. Its only abourt demands. Actually its a I manage the world, this is what I want, you must comply. Looks like a 30 Seconds and Walk Away to me. With mid terms a while away, he will get angry as he will want something to send back home. So, it will be a "I did my best, more than my best, we really did. He wants war"

Trump will claim success and order McDonalds

Kim will claim success and secretly continue to build their new nuclear test site to replace the one they messed up last year.

:-) maybe!

Trump will get angry and get his ups from the US people that way. If I cant fix it, no one can

KJU will continue talks with SK, involve China (keeping China happy as he has left them out to a degree)(keeping US unhappy) and work towards diplomacy with China and SK cooperation, then seek sanction reductions via UN on the basis of non proliferation (as USA and USSR did in the 70's) Moreover be super positive. Offer visits to confirm non proliferation by UN, excluding US. I'd not be surprised if all this was pre planned by China as a means to minimise the US influence in Asia. An angry Donald is a good target, he can dig his own anti-diplomatic hole, leaving China and NK with clean hands

A lot of Americans seem to think 'NK can't exclude us. We're the USA!' [Stamps tiny foot] To which my answer would be, are you suggesting that South Korea can't make any treaties without your explicit approval? What about China, are you going to tell them they can't make treaties? 'BBBut we are the USA! You can't ignore us!' Well... keep on the way you are right now, and people will.
