White House Wanted USS John McCain ‘Out of Sight’ During Trump Japan Visit

Trump is a very malicious little man.

Time - President Trump Tweets That Russia Helped Him Get Elected, Then Quickly Backtracks
May 30, 2019 9:50 AM ET
(WASHINGTON) — President Donald Trump blasted special counsel Robert Mueller on Thursday, calling him a “never Trumper” who led a biased investigation on Russia’s interference in the 2016 election and failed to investigate his opponents who didn’t want Trump to be president.
Trump’s eruption came a day after Mueller pointedly rejected his repeated claims that he was cleared of obstruction of justice allegations and that the two-year inquiry was merely a “witch hunt.”
The president also offered mixed messages on Russia’s efforts to help him defeat Democrat Hillary Clinton, first tweeting that he had “nothing to do with Russia helping me get elected,” then minutes later, telling reporters: “Russia did not help me get elected.” ...

My people came to me, [Director of National Intelligence] Dan Coats came to me and some others saying they think it's Russia.
I have President Putin, he just said it’s not Russia,” Trump said. “I will say this, I don’t see any reason why it would be.”

The Washington Post - Andrew McCabe, Trump’s foil at the FBI, is fired hours before he could retire
March 17, 2018
Attorney General Jeff Sessions late Friday night fired former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe, a little more than 24 hours before McCabe was set to retire ...
The result was that McCabe was publicly humiliated and lost his pension after decades of service.
Mueller is due to retire soon.
I wonder if Trump will pull the same cruel trick on Mueller?

Another brilliant plan from The Stable Genius:
The New York Times - Trump Says U.S. Will Hit Mexico With 5% Tariffs on All Goods
May 30, 2019
WASHINGTON — President Trump said Thursday that he would impose a 5 percent tariff on all imported goods from Mexico beginning June 10, a tax that would “gradually increase” until the flow of undocumented immigrants across the border stopped. ...
The tariff would begin at 5 percent on June 10 and gradually rise to 25 percent by October.
This defies logic ... 🙃

The New York Times - Trump’s Tariff Threat Sends Mexico, Lawmakers and Businesses Scrambling
May 31, 2019
WASHINGTON — President Trump’s threat to punish Mexico with tariffs until it restrains the flow of migrants across the southwestern border rattled financial markets on Friday and prompted pushback from the Mexican government, American businesses and Republican lawmakers, who accused Mr. Trump of overstepping his authority and pressed him to back down.
The president has made frequent use of tariffs to force trade concessions from other governments, including Mexico, Canada, China and Europe.
But he raised the stakes on Thursday night by threatening to hit the United States’ ally and its largest trading partner with tariffs for issues related to immigration, not trade.
Republican lawmakers, who have rarely challenged the president, objected to the move, saying tariffs were the wrong tool to try to address illegal immigration.
But Mr. Trump, who is invoking emergency powers to impose tariffs of up to 25 percent on all Mexican goods, showed no signs of relenting.
He said on Friday that he would proceed with tariffs that could hurt American consumers and some of its biggest companies, including automakers, agricultural companies and retailers. ...
Trump is again claiming that Mexico will pay the tariffs.
And that tariffs will reduce illegal immigration and the drug trade.
Here is a random current selection from Trump's Twitter site:

... Trump is also pushing back hard against reports that the White House instructed the Navy to hide the USS John McCain from his view during his visit to Japan last weekend.
The White House reportedly asked that the USS John McCain be hidden because it might upset him. Trump claims he didn't know anything about this.

kingdragonfly: It's hard to answer your rhetorical question without obvious virtue signaling.
Trump can bring about vast death tolls by just being impetuous, ill prepared, goaded or even bought off.
He encourages more strong arm politics and dictatorships worldwide.
It goes way beyond being able to buy something.
It wasn't a rhetorical question.
True, Trump could bring about vast death tolls.
Putin and Kim Il Jong are probably just as capable/likely of bringing about vast death tolls. Both of whom have been responsible for carrying out assassinations on foreign soil of people who oppose them. Trump hasn't done that, at least yet.
For some reason there's a fascination in this country with Trump. Perhaps that's because we get a lot of our news feeds from the US. I think Trump gets far more airplay in our media than he deserves. I think he's an idiot with most of what he does though I think he does get some things right, whether that's by design or by accident is another story.
One of Trumps few attributes is he says what he thinks. Whether or not we like what he says, at least we know where he stands. You cannot say that for the likes of Hillary Clinton who will tell you what she thinks you want to hear. It's a sad commentary that these were the two choices for the President of the USA.
There's other world leaders whom I think deserve more attention for what they do and how they might affect us. I've mention two above and there's a third and that is Xi Jinping. They are effectively dictators who can do what they please, unlike Trump who is bound by some checks and balances.
Trump was elected through an open fair democratic process. I'm not sure the same can be said for Putin, Kin Il Jong or Xi Jinping. With the possible exception of Putin it's very unlikely the citizens of these countries will ever get the chance to have a say in who leads them.
EDIT
To further illustrate my point, can you imagine a parody about Putin, Kim Il Jong or Xi Jinping similar to the one linked in the post above being allowed to play in their respective countries. Just imagine what would happen to anyone who produced anything like this.
I read that Kim had executed his entire diplomatic/foreign affairs team upon arrival in Pyongyang for failed negotiation with Donald Trump, under the official charge of being spies.
