Regarding Godwin's Law. I have strong reasons to not allow Godwin's on Geekzone and I stick to those reasons. Earlier on I have even removed a couple of posts from this thread based on FUG.
However, after looking at this thread and at the person involved, the whole situation and the current events, I deem appropriate in this instance only, to draw comparison with the rise (and fall) of the Nazi regime in Germany.
Please keep civil.

I might have to nominate this thread for " Most Pointless Thread On Geekzone, Ever."
Trump WILL be president. Our opinions have as much relevance as those of my dogs and nothing short of his death will change him being POTUS between now and his inauguration.
Clearly a lot of people are of differing views but, at page 110, we're just running round in circles between the "Yay Trump is POTUS" gang and the "No way should Trump be POTUS" gang.

The Washington Post - Opinion - Trump’s latest display isn’t just deranged. It’s also an abuse of power.
May 28, 2020
The news that Twitter has dared to attach the mildest of correctives to President Trump’s latest false tweets - prompting threats of direct retribution from Trump - reopens the long-running debate over the true nature of the menace that Trump’s autocratic instincts pose to democracy.
That debate pits those who see Trump as a clownish and ineffective autocrat wannabe against those who see a much more insidiously destructive form of corruption at work.
What’s happening right now strongly supports the latter interpretation.
Trump and his campaign are quite literally claiming the right to lie to the American people about potentially lifesaving voting options during a pandemic - entirely free of accountability.
They are explicitly declaring that any effort to correct those lies will be cast as an affront to the free speech of conservatives.
Trump just unloaded in a fury at Twitter ... the object of Trump’s rage is Twitter’s decision to affix a fact check to Trump’s lies about vote-by-mail.
Trump has been falsely claiming that this will lead to vote fraud, forgeries and even ineligible voters getting ballots.
In response, Twitter added a few links to corrective stories and a few lines clarifying that there’s “no evidence that mail-in ballots are linked to voter fraud” and that ballots are mailed only to registered voters. ...
The tweets spreading Trump’s lies about voter fraud remain posted, and he has already posted more such lies that do not yet have any such corrective appended. ...

From this subforum, yes.
"Trump departs Washington a pariah as his era in power ends"
Donald Trump's era in Washington is over.

JWR: Isn't that just a little bit racist, sexist and ageist?
As someone who is 6 months older than Trump, I know a f***ing moron when I see one.
I recognize Donald Trump and his sycophantic followers as a symptom of America's decay.
Up yours, Donald. 😉

Gurezaemon:
This brings to mind the thought experiment of "if you could go back in time and kill Hitler, would you?"
The argument against this is that given the trends of society at that time, someone else more militarily adept may well have come up in place and ended up bringing the final solution to its awful conclusion, and winning the war, instead of what Hitler did, constantly hamstringing his very competent generals. But this is steering off-topic...
I knew I had heard this somewhere before, and then I clicked where: The Twilight Zone.

"This is unprecedented," said @freitasm, BDFL and admin at Geekzone.
"I had to edit our database to make the subject topics longer just to be able to list the bad stuff Donald Trump has been involved with inside the limits of the forum - the two impeachments, the four indictments, the rape liability, the financial fraud conviction and now the guilty verdict on a felony hush-money case where his fixer paid a porn actress to be quiet about a sexual affair that could prevent Donald Trump from being elected if people knew about it. And that sex affair happened while his wife was giving birth or something. If this was a novel, people would say it's too far-fetched to be believable."
