Hi guys,

I made a website that compares your income taxes around the world. The service is free, and it helped me understand a few questions I had if I were to move to Australia.

If you are wondering how much after-tax amount you'll get if you were in Australia, or the UK, for example, the website can work it out.

It's still in its early stages; most of the figures have been carefully checked, and I believe it is fairly accurate.

Let me know what you think or any additional countries you want me to add.

Is there any reasoning for the ordering of the country "rectangles"?  If not, then in the same order as the graphs above might be good.

Great point, I can make that change tonight to arrange it.

Could be nice to have a couple of "high" European examples, e.g. Netherlands, Sweden, ...

Amazing work! Just one small issue, if I enter a $15k yearly salary in Australia is says total tax is $300, if I understand correctly you don't have to pay anything if below the tax-free threshold, and confirmed it the ATO Calculator.

There are also other tax to consider, such as council taxes. eg in London you pay a month council tax. In NZ we have rates which is essentially a local area tax, but it is charged on the property, which for a one person household could be $5k a year. But if renting in NZ, it is usually covered in the monthly rent.  So tax in NZ can a a lot higher  In NZ the tax you pay also means that you get a universal super at 65, which countries like Oz, I understand it is means tested. So it is complex to compare.
Also in NZ approx 40% of people have health insurance due to NZs health system being so underfunded and the waiting lists. Not sure how NZs health system compares to Oz, but you pay a medicare levy under your taxes. I understand that in England, their NHS is a lot better than NZs, and far less people have health insurance as a result. So IMO if in NZ, purchasing health insurance is a likely requirement and an additional expense to match the quality of health services of those other countries.
