Can PayPal refund it directly back to your VISA card? (I'm assuming you don't have a normal PayPal account that you use for other things and that the PayPal/VISA payment was a one off without creating a full PayPal account).

If you have a normal PayPal account, then you will probably find that the finds are sitting in your PayPal account and that you will need to get them credited to your VISA... but it's going to cost as PayPal love to take a cut from everything you do!

Often there will be a difference in the cost of the purchase and the refund due to the constant changing exchange rates.  Plus your bank will have charged a commission for the purchase which doesn't get refunded.

Depending on how much the difference is, you might be inclined to make that call to your bank and ask them to refund.

As shown above, if it's a "refund", Paypal just reverses the CC payment and should be at the same exchange rate too (I guess it would depend if you got Paypal to do the conversion or not).
