Been a while since I switched ISPs and want to get away from 2Ds finally.

My wife and I both work from home so having no connection would be a bit of disaster

What's the best way to avoid double billing and also no loss of service? work basically advise 2d to cease at the end of the month and tell Quic to start?

This has probably been answered a million times...apologies.

Join Quic, get a connection date. Once you have that date, tell 2d that you want to cease service on that date.

Check whether you need to give 2d any notice, e.g. some ISPs require 30 days' notice in which case you'd tell Quic to connect you a month from now.

I've just been through this and 2Degrees screwed me over. I had plenty of time, so I asked 2Degrees which date would be best - don't do that. They told me one 2 days into my billing cycle so I paid for an extra 28 days of internet with them that I didn't need or use.

My advice would be to look at your billing dates and get Quic connected 2-3 days prior to that date, and cancel 2Degrees on the last day of the billing cycle.

Obviously, check you're not fixed to any contract dates too.

After verifying I was not on any contract I just moved.

Note, with 2degrees you're paid a month in advance so all depends on how you want to go around this. With me, I had my move date 2 days before my 2degrees bill comes out and ceased service before that.

Basically, move to Quic on whatever date you decide and once moved tell 2degrees you're disconnected and to stop billing. They'll ask for their router back (if you took one of them) and it's over.

If you sign up to Quic with VLAN 10 then your move will be seamless as in the 2degrees settings you already have on your router will just work.

Seems that sort of thing is par for the course: I switched from Voyager and they tried to charge me for an extra month, lied about my cancellation date when I complained, and ultimately gave me a "goodwill credit" rather than admitting they'd done anything wrong!

My advise is technical not bulling, ask Quic to provision with VLAN10 tag so that when the churn occurs it will just keep running

You router currently connected to 2degrees will just keep working

I did what Tim says and I was working on my computer when the swap happened and there was no break at all.

I had a stop set for one day and the reconnect for the day later and thought I might have some hours of no internet but not so.
