Hi,

I have a static IP with Quic and am not using a vpn.  Recently, when I log into Disney Plus from home, I get a "Looks like you are travelling" dialogue, and the content is US.  I further get this email.  Has anyone else seen this or knows how to fix it?

Ended up ringing Disney, and they fixed it on their end.  They asked me to confirm IP address and then changed a setting.  Very strange.

Interesting - I don't have Disney, but had a very similar message from the Threenow app last night (I'm also on Quic and have static IP, no VPN).

Both on browser and Google TV Streamer:

I'll attempt to contact TV3, but is this some change from Quic's end?

Also had a problem with Netflix, so definitely something is wrong on the IP address side.

@rabba It is not wrong on the IP address from the ISP but the whitelist on the streaming providers need to be updated

Previous similar issue for reference: https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumId=194&topicId=311676

In short, Quic is probably now using address space that used to be used by another provider elsewhere in the world; it takes time for people to update the Geolocation databases.

TVNZ Ondemand, Netflix and PrimeTV all work with no issues - so only some streaming providers clearly.  Will see how long TV3, or "Warner Brothers Discovery NZ" according to the confirmation of my "Feedback", take to respond.

Glad its not a me problem either way!

Morning, sorry about this but it looks like the Geo feed we provide for our addresses was not being consumed in this instance and the subnet has been picked up from NZ and moved to US. We've submitted a correction with the parties involved and expect this to come right over the next few days.

Views and comments are my own unless otherwise stated.

Ironic that I am now having to use an NZ based VPN to convince streaming providers to let me watch the things I have been watching a couple of days ago from the same static IP that mysteriously uprooted to the US with all the same accounts...

This issue still doesn't appear to be resolved for me. Are others still experiencing this issue?

On the +ve side every week of no Lotto is probably another month of a streamer covered.

I don't pay for any streaming service. Will go on booze, drugs and fast cars instead.

Does Quic have any IP ranges that are considered to still be in NZ that I can be switched to?

I can put up with the complaints about streaming services not working at home (for now), no problem on the Lotto or TAB, but the hassle dealing with clients that require xx days notice of travel before so they can open up remote connectivity to those countries is starting to do my head in 🤯
