WTS:

Would anyone in the Headphones gang be interested in my Chord Mojo and/or Chord Poly?

Mojo is about 12 months old and mint

Poly is about 7 months old and mint

Both NZ new and with original packaging.

I am just not using them these days as my listening habits have changed slightly and it seems a shame.

Mojo new is around $750-899

Poly is around $1000

Thinking of $600 for Mojo and $750 for Poly?

Bundle deal of $1250 and will throw in a leather case for the pair.

Anyone got a source for someone prepared to do a deal on the A90 Topping headphone Amp?

I think only Rapallo and Addicted to Audio sell them "officially" locally with support/warranty. Not sure you would have too much luck negotiating down from their list price, but Rapallo is slightly cheaper at the moment - $869 vs $889.

I have seen Topping gear pop up on TM occasionally, but Caveat Emptor as always!

If you got it from Amazon, after shipping and GST add, you would save about NZ$60. Not sure if the extra risk and pain of warranty/support is worth it!

Yeah $60 isn't worth the saving. I did get close to getting one from Aliexpress from a reputable seller, but there was a batch issue and it's the kind of item that it would be a pain to have to ship back to get fixed or whatever. That would have saved me about $90-110.

To make it worth the risk of shipping from a supplier in Chin, I'd totally want to be saving at least 25%

Sennheiser, the iconic German audio brand that's been making headphones for more than 75 years, has reached an agreement to divest itself of the brand's consumer division to Swiss hearing giant Sonova Holding AG.

I am not sure how this will pan out. I am hopeful they may retain the qualities that made Senn great over so many years.

I wouldn't write them off, but I think the new entity is going to have to find a bit of a market niche so that they're not competing directly with Apple/Bose/Sonos/etc. Sonova's interest in hearing assistance products would seem like a good way to achieve that.

Why? They aren't going to stop making existing products. New products could be a different story.

Not that the USD55,000 Orpheus was really on my list, but often in scenarios like this the acquiring company seems to extract value by cutting costs.

May or may not happen, but I won’t be surprised if it does.

Seriously, just do it. They're a fantastic product, and great value if you get them on special.

The only thing that could drag me away from mine would be the up and coming Sonos headphones, but who knows if or when those will launch.

Good choice. Personally I don't find them that comfortable but that's going to be a very personal thing. Sound quality though is

Is pretty good and the noise canceling is Ok. Pretty close to best in class but nowhere near as good as the Sony xm4 over ear.

So now Addicted to Audio is closed due to a health issue with their sole staff member, there's a sign on the door saying they're moving location.

Any idea where they're going to?

No Sorry.

I understand why they picked that location but it wasn't very handy for me, and parking was a pain. I think they would have been better in Parnell, Newmarket or even Ponsonby.
