Flobbleobble:

I see Avatar: The Way of Water UHD has disappeared from both jbhifi nz and au. Wonder if this is to do with the collector's editions coming out or if Disney is now not only stopping new releases but pulling existing releases from australasia that they think might impact disney plus subscriptions

I noticed that Avatar TWoW had disappeared from both sites when I was checking out the BF sales. It could be because of the new Collector’s Edition releasing shortly, but the first Avatar is still available and that’s getting a Collector’s Edition also. There’s still several Disney titles on the Aussie website, so, who knows what’s going on.

Well, The Oppenheimer SteelBook has reappeared on JBNZ website and its on sale! I will get a refund of $12 on my pre-order. Releases tomorrow and its already on its way. Happy Days 😁

I figured out why Oppenheimer, Field of Dreams and To Kill a Mockingbird pre-releases have 20% off. Its because they will be released within the time frame of the sale. Not seen that before.

The Fugitive 4K Ultra HD has been released in the US,. Apparently Warner Bros have excelled themselves and presented a fantastic transfer, removing all of the problems associated with the previous Blu-ray release.

EzyDVD have some great Black Friday deals. 33% off selected 4K Ultra HD titles. Both Avatar films are available, which is good to know

I haven't purchased anything from them, so I can't say what they are like to deal with, but others are happy with their service.

EzyDVD 4K Ultra HD Sale

7 pages of goodies.

EDIT: I tried to create an account to take advantage of the great prices on their Disney titles, but so far I've had no success. I think their is a problem with the website at the moment. Might try again later.

Okay, I'm logged in 😀

First time poster, long time lurker.  Thanks Movieman for keeping us updated on the latest physical 4K releases. It's extremely helpful and much appreciated.

I ordered quite a lot from JB Hi Fi Australia, but unfortunately it has become an almost impossible task for the titles I now want which are unavailable to us in NZ. So I took the risk on November 2 to do my first order from EzyDVD for Cinderella 1950 4K. They stated that orders would be sent out if in stock within 24 hours, so I kept on checking my order to see if it had dispatched via the website. Five days after ordering, the message remained pending dispatch and I was getting a little worried. On November 8, there is a knock at the door and it was New Zealand Couriers with a bubble wrap bag. Yes, Cinderella had arrived and in perfect condition. Even today when I check the order online, it still has pending dispatch, so don't get too concerned if there is no update on your order page. It may take a little longer with the sale.

Yes, dealing with JBAU is a bit of a lottery these days. I added eight titles to my cart, but only one was available to me. I think we would have more luck with the newer releases, but JBNZ has most of these as well, so not really worth importing.

Thanks for the info on EzyDVD, they look like a decent alternative to JBAU.

Welcome to the Weekly NEW ZEALAND 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Release Schedule for Thursday November 23rd

Firstly; Just a reminder that JBNZ have their Black Friday 20% off sale until 23:59 on Monday 27th November.

As Talk To Me has been pushed back to December 6th and Possession has been removed from JBNZ website; We only have one new release this week and its one of 2023's Box-Office blockbusters; Oppenheimer is now available to buy on 4K Ultra HD in Standard or SteelBook Editions. Next week sees the arrival of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem also in Standard and SteelBook Editions.

For Australian importers: As its getting increasingly difficult to find any catalogue titles at JBAU that will ship to NZ, I would advise you to take a look at the EzyDVD website as an alternative.

Click on the post# links for the individual release information (artwork, specs, etc.) where available. Just click on the link and it should take you to the correct post. Then click on the back arrow to return to the schedule.

JBNZ have sprung a surprise on their website. Field of Dreams and To Kill a Mockingbird are showing as "New Releases" and at a reduced price of $43.98 and $31.98 respectively.

JBAU still have them both marked as "Coming Soon" while EzyDVD has a release date of  December 13th, so take from that what you will 🤪

EDIT: December 13th seems to be a popular choice for these two titles, so maybe we can assume that JBNZ have jumped the gun a little.

Still annoyed I was going to buy Devotion for like 30$ cheaper than usual and by the time I went to checkout they'd all gone.

FIELD OF DREAMS (1989)

4K Ultra HD & Blu-ray

ARTWORK NOT FINAL

Considered one of the most inspirational movies of all time, Field of Dreams is an incredible story starring Kevin Costner. "If you build it, he will come." With these words, Iowa farmer Ray Kinsella (Kevin Costner) is inspired by a voice he cannot ignore to pursue a dream he can hardly believe. Ray begins the quest by turning his ordinary cornfield into a place where dreams can come true. Also starring Ray Liotta, James Earl Jones and Amy Madigan, Field of Dreams is a heartwarming experience that has moved critics and audiences like no other film of this generation. This unforgettable film is a glowing tribute to all who dare to dream.

I decided to make my final purchase from the Black Friday sales from Amazon US.

The one item that really made my mind up to make a purchase (with free shipping), was this Back to the Future: The Ultimate Trilogy set which was only US28.49, a saving of 49% on the normal price. There are 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray versions of each of the three films, plus a Bonus Disc full of extras. The discs have the movie artwork for each film and are set in a sort of Digibook, which is nicely housed in an embossed slip box. A lovely addition to my collection.

To make up the US$49 for free shipping; I added:-

Nobody (2021) A guilty pleasure of mine 😁

E.T. - The Extra Terrestrial (1982) I have it on iTunes, but its still waiting to be upgraded to 4K.

Lone Survivor (2013) Another title not yet upgraded to 4K on iTunes.
