Apparently Universal underestimated the demand for their recent 4K Ultra HD release of Oppenheimer. Collector's in the US and Europe are fuming that both the Standard and SteelBook releases are sold out everywhere. Reportedly, Universal have got their disc presses working 24/7 to "replenish" the unexpected demand for the title. Ebay scalpers have been asking up to US$200 for the SteelBook Edition.
A quote from the film's director Christopher Nolan;
“If you buy a 4K UHD, you buy a Blu-ray it’s on your shelf, it’s yours. No company is going to break into your house and take it from you and repossess it. It’s yours, and you own it. That’s never really the case with any form of digital distribution.”
