Thanks for that summary. So the LG 6620 might be a bit borderline? Or ok as long as you weren't doing 3d?

To be honest, I don't think ANY of my computer monitors have a 100 hz or higher refresh rate. I've never shelled out for an expensive one :)

If you aren't concerned with 3D then 100hz is perfectly fine. the human eye struggles to see past 60hz anyway.
The benefit for the higher refresh rates (over 100hz) is that when in 3D you still maintain a smooth image with little/no motion blur.


Again my recommendation would be to go into the stores and have a look.

If 3D doesn't concern you then you could also look at the Panasonic TH-L42ET60Z which I think has a beautiful picture

Given that the LG is a passive 3d screen, I think maybe every frame goes to each eye. But only half the lines in each frame are seen by each eye. Isn't that how it works with passive? So 100Hz ought to be enough for passive 3d.
