allstarnz: so how does one now on Sky Sports synopisis whether it's true HD?  I thought it might be the HD in the top right, but it seems not.  The EPG doesn't seem to say either with MySkyHDi, it did on normal Sky

I see what you mean. The blue HD logo seems to be on the info bar far all SS1/SS2 programmes. Grass Roots Rugby on at the moment certainly ain't HD and the IAAF isn't even 16:9 Undecided.

it's odd, becuase the text synopsis on standard Sky has HD postfixed at the end, but on HDi it doesn't.

I'm due to get mysky HD installed next week - Can anyone help re the following:

Audio output

Can you connect  / use both component rca audio out and digital audio out at the same time?

Ie I want to connect via rca to tv for general watching / listening but

also connect via digital to stereo for movies etc

Thanks

Can someone help
Had MySky HDi installed today.  Is running via HDMI to DVI into SD plasma (LG 42PX-11).  Tonight have lost picture on all channels intermittently, but not sound.  Cable is fine as still get EPG etc..
Is this to do with trying to run HDMI into SD panel?  Seems weird when it was working fine earlier today.
Suggestions?

yep, you can, just connect the 2 ch analogue to your TV and either optical or coax digital to your receiver.
The box currently only supports PCM audio via HDMI, so you have to use one of the digital audio connections for multi channel audio (when available) anyway

Cheers

Just out of interest.  Why would you want to pay the money for a HiDef STB  and run it into a SD TV?  Sort of defeats Hidef TV

one thing i like about the new My Sky HDi is that if you take the satellite cable out (or during a rain fade etc), you still can watch the programs you have already recorded, unlike the last mysky which didnt allow you to do that.

That's odd, I thought we could always watch what was on the harddrive from MySky1 when rain fade occurred, regardless of whether the cable was connected

Re: why HDi on SD panel - plan to upgrade panel soon, but have multizone, so liked the idea of replacing Pace box with mySky box for kids tv in other room - now they can record High Scool Musical et al and dont have to watch it on "grown ups" tv. Pretty cool to be able to record up to 4 shows at once

No such thing. You'll be able to record 2 shows at once while watching a 3rd LIVE.

I'm confused, with MyskyHD and multiroom - do you get two myskyHD boxes?

We are in the process of finding the time to ring up and book - as we are existing sky digital subscribers.

I thought multiroom would mean that we keep our existing Sky Digital little silver STB for the kids TV(all bedroom tellies) and our main TV in the lounge would have the MyskyHD but still also connected to the orginal stb (my new panasonic DVD Recorder has 4 AV inputs - so computer, myskyhd and orginal sky digital).

I already have one tv wired for sky Digital downstairs and want to get my daughters room wired up in the same way - but keep the STB upstairs where it is so that it can also be plugged into our DVD Recorder - so I can also keep using that as a recording device also.

Which I will explain to the Skyman when he gets here - as I find it too compicated explaining without showing as it is all gobbly gook to me.

Sent my voucher off for 6 months free HD subscription on Friday, received a call today, and have booked installation for 27 August. (Whangarei area)
A bit of a wait, but at least it is within the same month, and glad I don't have to wait until September..
