I am pretty sure my WD TV Live is about to give up the ghost.  It has been freezing up during playback of movies on a HD directly connected to its USB.  Also freezes during movies streamed from my Laptop via DLNA.  Remote is able to do nothing and the only way to get it to go again is to remove the power and restart it.

I have attempted a factory reset and the problem remains.  I am on the latest firmware.

Purchased 10 June 2012 so 2 years, 3.5 months old from Noel Leeming.(I have the receipt)

For an electronic device I feel I should have got more life than this.  Do anyone have an opinion if this should be replaced under the consumers guarantee act or do you think I have had a fair enough life with this WD TV Live?  I feel I am a little hard done by.

Patrick

I had the same issue. Video freeze during play, from either USB or NAS. Also it often doesn't turn on with remote, had to unplug the power adapter

I was 1 step from returning it

But it was resolved by rolling back the firmware.

I rolled back to 2.01.86, video no longer freezes, and device turn on with remote. The later could be related to the power saving setting.

Many ppl seem to have issues with the latest version 2.02.32

If your issues only started recently, then I'd suggest you try rolling back firmware first.
