My Veon 43 inch TV seems to be low res – even just playing a usb stick – does anyone know why that might be? Even the internal onscreen instructions are not sharp, does anyone have an idea why that might be please?

With some low end TVs the electronics that handle menus and "smart" functions can't work at the TV's panel's native resolution.

Thank you ....  it is a Veon 43inch 4K tv from the Warehouse. so it should all be high res – it seemed like it was when I set it up (for a friend) and then it had demoted itself to low res a week later when I returned. It's almost like there's almost a film over the glass (and yes i did take the protective plastic off). It seems bizarre to me. Thank you if you have already commented or if you have any other perspectives. I am thinking of taking it back and exchanging, I just can't think what button i could have tripped to cause this.

How do you know the resolution has dropped?

FYI nothing is broadcasted in 4K like Freeview, Sky etc
Selected content on Netflix/Apple TV is 4K (other streaming sites offer selected content too)

Simple plugging a USB into the tv does not magically make the content on the stick 4K (3840x2160)
