Hi, Been using EPG Collector/Centre for a couple of years, but just installed onto a new Win7 64-bit. Old PC (still win 7 64-bit) works fine but new instal doesn't. Exit code 13 and no data downloaded almost as though it just cant see any data. TV card working fine thru MediaPortal and checked config from old PC and can't see any obvious differences. Seen a few comments on allowing EPG Collector and Centre thru windows firewall and think I've done this okay (ticked both private & public options for both exe's). Cleaned up installation folders including ProgramData/Geekzone/EPG Collector and re-installed with 4.1 and FP18 a number of times. only thing carried over from the old setup is the EPG Collector.ini. Any help appreciated.
I and others had to change the frequency we were collecting on recently, for some reason they stopped broadcasting EPG data on the frequency we were using.
Not sure what to do about your suggestion. If freeview (that's what I'm using in the UK) have changed their EPG frequencies that I'd setup (2 years ago?) using 2 blocks, one for Freeview (11428000H) and the other for OpenTV (11778000V)... Are you saying that I need to change one/other/both these frequencies? ...and to what? Just when I thought I was getting to grips with EPGCollector....
Regarding reference in the link you provided... Says that "Needed to remap." but I don't know what this is in this context. Once again, any help appreciated.
It's probably not the same issue. In our case, we collect data from one of the 3 Freeview NZ frequencies. We simply changed the frequency we collected from.
Re posting of log-file... Sorry for the irritating question, but how can I access the log file? Where are they? Hunted around the readme's and other info but just can't find it.
FYI... Ran a similar setup on my other Win 7 64-bit MediaPortal setup (EPG4.1 FP16) with no problems, and this has all the same frequencies. So def looks like some local config on my new PC. I'll try dropping back to FP16 to see if that works.
Managed to fix the problem, but still don't know what it is. Reverted back to FP16 and, as SJB said, it probably won't make any difference. Well it didn't - still had the same problem!
As I'm using a TBS6981 dual S/S2 tuner, I had been using tuner B with EPG Centre settings to use any free tuner. ...and successfully watching TV channels via MediaPortal. ...with tuner A spare. Decided to move the single cable connector to the other tuner "A" which (so far) fixed the problem. Well, at least it's now finding new channels on Channel Search and is currently loading new EPG data for my UK Freeview channels. I've compared my duplicate (similar) setup on another PC with the same video card and can't see any differences in the Device Manager, such as drivers etc. On both PCs, only a single entry appears for the dual tuners in the Sound, video and game controllers section called TBS 6981 DVB-S/S2 DUAL BDA. So nothing smacking me in the chops on that aspect.
Seems to behave as though tuner B is for viewing only, and tuner A for EPG and (possibly - but not tested it yet) viewing as well. Tuner B may be faulty in some way but not sure of any way of testing it.
If anyone has any suggestions as to why this could be the case or any further changes are required to my setup then I'd appreciate it.

I was using MC with EPG Centre originally, then migrated over to MP so still using EPG cos it seems pretty good at what it does. May look into MP plugins at some point. As for the log... Switched the cable back to problematic tuner B and got it to fail again with Code 13. Can't see any way of attaching files so have just cut'n pasted into this section below, but cleared the log before re-running the EPG collection so should just reflect the problem.
...but keep getting 501 errors when trying to post my response, so hvae cut out many repetative sections of the log. Hope they're not relevant.

According to this line in the log it's using tuner A

But in any case it doesn't get a signal lock and proceeds because the signal quality is not zero. However it is very low at 5% so unsurprisingly it doesn't receive any data. Check what's in the log for signal lock/signal quality for the working tuner.
If that was my card I'd assume the tuner was faulty especially as the other tuner works fine. EPGC doesn't know they are on a single piece of hardware. It just sees 2 tuners and treats them exactly the same.
Also I have seen instances where it was possible to use a tuner to watch programmes successfully but EPGC couldn't receive any data. Maybe that's the case with yours.
After a long break at looking into this, I think I've found the reason why I have this problem. ...and think it's the MediaPortal TV Server service that's causing it. i.e. After stopping the MP TV service, I can successfully run the EPG collector every time. ...and I mean every time! Now my setup only has a single source/cable connected to my sat dish but my receiver card has 2 ports, so one of them (currently the A port) on my TBS 6981 does not have a connection to my sat dish which means I have to set my channel B to be the one to use to collect my EPG. (Doesn't seem to work if I select the "select any available channel" option) However as soon I fire-up my MP TV service even if I'm not recording or watching any channels, then the problem is back again. ...so could be some setting in MP that I've not set correctly. Who knows...!
Anyway, thought it may be useful to share this info, and if anyone has any ideas about how to really fix this collector-MP conflict then I'd certainly appreciate it. ...but, for now, I have a workaround.
FWIW, I tried using the MP webEPG plugin but it really is nowhere near as good as EPG Collector. For example, webEPG can't collect EPG for red-buttons on the BBC, and loads of the "mapping" problems mean that many of my free-sat channels had no data. ...so sticking with EPG Collector!
'Any available tuner' doesn't work because, from the previous log posting, the tuner reports a signal quality of 5 even though there is no cable connected. EPGC therefore assumes its OK to use that tuner and gets no data.
Maybe MP Server is holding onto the tuner(s) the whole time its loaded.
Yes, I think that the MP TV Service is hanging onto the channel. I'll look into the details of why and if it can be configured to "let go" when I've a bit more time. I'm just releived that I now have a work-around as my other options seemed to include "no data" on many of my Free Sat channels. I'll update if I find anything.

TV Server creates the BDA graph when first loaded if configured to preload the tuner, but otherwise it only creates the graph when the tuner is first needed to tune a channel. The graph is only running when timeshifting or recording. TV Server configuration determines whether the graph is paused or stopped when the tuner is not in use.
