Hi all

Just a quick question re. MySky.

Was trying to play back a programme recorded last night but as soon as I get 35 minutes in, the box appears to crash and reset itself. This happened 3 or 4 times (whether I played or tried to forward through the spot) and always at the same point in the recording. Each time I go back to replay the programme, the planner shows it as totally 'unviewed' ie flicks me back to the beginning.

Gave it one last try just now and it 'seems' to have got beyond the point and is now playing fine - has anyone got any idea what this issue might be? (And yes, I've spoken to Sky - they were as much use a chocolate teapot).

Cheers
RB

Chocolate teapots are just fine if you like ice tea.

As to your problem, how much room have you left of the disc, once they get much of 75% things seem to go bad.

Lol!

And I'm nowhere near 75% - more like 10 (!) so I don't think that can be the problem.

If you have a programme recorded which the MySKY can't play back then you probably have a bad/damaged hard drive and need a box replacement. The box will attempt to play back the material and, if it really can't proceed will reboot to see if that clears the error. Repeated failures to play back the material show the drive needs replacing. You'll lose any recordings when the replacement is done.

bad 'something' (eg corrupt file). delete the show. everything else will be fine. once in a while you will need to reboot by pressing the middle square button and the round circle button together eg when the recording schedule goes mad or the guide goes on holiday, but this has got nothing to do with your current problem.
