Thinking about getting a jvc dla-hd1 from www.pricejapan.com.

Anyone here bought from pricejapan? They have a local NZ bank account in the name of some asian guy - but always good to know that they are for real before sending off the cash.

thanks

I bought a JVC MG505 off them earlier this year (Jan 07).. At that time, the MG505 was going to cost me > $2000 locally.

Taking a few risks (i.e. NTSC version of the camera, local JVC support and japanese manual) I decided to take a gamble on an NTSC Japanese version of the MG505 from pricejapan.com (based on some good reviews). This worked out at about 85000 yen for me (NZ$1044 ) including shipping. I went with DHL, despite the higher cost - but this was offset since i didnt get ping'ed for gst.

I transferred money to them Monday afternoon (yup, a local NZ account), and had the camera here in NZ on Thursday Morning.

Just make sure that the camera/device menu can be set to english, and power supply is 240v capable.
For all these tradeoffs, I have saved $1k and got a fantastic camera (made in japan as well). no problems so far, just had to get a few aftermarket batteries (from trademe).
