Amazon has removed Kodi from it's Amazon Fire TV app store "because it can be used to facilitate piracy"

May as well ban all media player software.

Lame.

I really liked having the Kodi icon on my homepage. (although you need to side-load kodi itself).

Kodi is great for playing files off my NAS, and I don't use any add ons. My normal go to media player VLC is poorly implemented on the Amazon fire, to the point where it is unusable.

Guess I will need to resort to other options to retain a homepage link.

May as well ban all computers from their store too, then. I've heard you can use them to facilitate piracy.

They still sell "fully loaded" (ie full of piracy addons) kodi boxes on amazon.com. But of course Amazon gets a cut of every sale, so that never gets stopped by Amazon, despite breaches of the kodi trademark.
