Yes I have a clone, and using the SCART in component mode to feed a PJ. As for functional diff, I dont believe there is any as they run the same (or can run the same) images with the same base applications.

pm 'bartender' on these forums, though i think he may only have cable units left, not sat units.

I only have one Cable unit still in "stock" at the mo... however after long conversations with she who must be obeyed she has allowed me to bring some more in... so I plan to bring in some more sat units in the next week or two.  I am selling them for $200+postage, however if the Kiwi $ stays this strong against the USD, I perhaps might sell the for a less, just depends on how much the freight / gst import tax I get stung with.

I would be willing to part with my only Sat box, which is my own personal one as I don't use it a whole hang of a lot (just for TV6 & Impara) if someone really wanted one right now!

Don't plan to bring in any more Cable units again as there wasn't much demand for them, much to my suprise.  Unless there are specific requests for them.

Also found out that the DM600S's are now available ex-china.  These are the same size (they are exactly the size of 3 regular DVD cases stacked ontop of each other with the plugs sticking out the back, yes they really are that small!) as the DM500, but can also take a 2.5" Laptop IDE disk... I am getting an eval unit in to see if they are ok or not as there can be quality control issues with equipment purchased from china.  If they are good I might bring in some of them as well.  Watch this space on that!.

Also these boxes are running a customised build of the Gemini image which works perfectly with streaming over the web due to a upgraded streamts that I added into the image.  Makes a huge improvement for streaming!  They also have all the satellite and cable configuration out of the box so they pretty much don't need any additional configuration if all you plan to do is watch FTA TV in NZ.

PM me if you want the last one!

Yes, from my understanding the 600 & 500+ both have Blindscan support on the Satellite Tuner.  I personally run the Gemini image since it's MaxVAR and I have twice as much VAR space over the PLi image which is helpful for a whole host of reasons.  That being said I am now customising the PLi Iolite image to pre-include all the necessary cam's & config needed to get the TCL Cable working without needing to download anything extra, and will survive a factory default reset without needing extra downloads.  Which at the mo isn't possible on the Gemini image as adding the required softcams into the root partition in the flash pushes the image size over the limit and means it won't boot.  That shouldn't be a problem on the PLi since there is still plenty of space free in the root fs in flash due it not being a MaxVAR image.

Is there any way to do cardsharing for NDS yet? ;)

Card sharing is illegal and I won't help anyone with how to do the config, if you want Pay TV then you should pay for it.

My wife can attest to that as well.... So far it has been days of frustration, and months of joy. And with the new images I have built they come out of the box working from day one, plus improved web-x-tv streaming and other goodies.

Lastly I went to Jaycar yesterday and bought a SCART to component cable which works a treat. I bought a WQ7255 and that was pefect for the Component TV I am using, has the 3 component RCA cables + 2 RCA Audio ones and $48 seems "fair" to me for a quality cable (not the $150+ what I hear some people have been paying.. ha, I am in the wrong business!). Below is the wiring you need:
