I have a Pana TH-42PV60A with two HDMI inputs and wanted to know whether they were HDCP capable. The manual doesnt say they are so can I presume they aren't? Anyone know? TIA.

Have you looked at pgage 29 in the manual? That states that it is.

http://www.panasonic.com.au/products/details.cfm?objectID=3127

I downloaded the manual from there.

Thanks for the reply. I looked at that site and downloaded the manual there. It seems to be identical to my paper one. I searched and there was no hit on "HDCP". The one for the TH-65PZ700A was also there - did you look at that one as it specifically states HDCP compliance?

For the record, Customer Service from Panasonic NZ have told me this TV's HDMI sockets ARE HDCP compliant. Whew!

I think it's pretty much safe to assume that any device with HDMI and the HDMI logo supports HDCP. HDCP is part of the HDMI standard so the unit would not be able to get HDMI certification (and carry the logo) without it.

It does anyways pay to check however, especially if you're spending a few thousand dollars on a TV! :-)

Thanks for that. As you say, you should ask, though! But, looking at the specs for the replacement model it is clearly stated that it is HDCP compliant.

After browsing the TV section of Harvey Norman this morning I am really looking forward to HDTV!
