I am using a dual LNB for D1 D2, Sky Dish, HVR3000, DVBViewer, can pick up all freeview, imparja, nitv on D1 and all on D2 except TP 12644 V, I have played with the skew and focus, used satellite finder with single LNB for aligning to D1, am in Wellington, anyone else got this problem? and any ideas on finding 12644 V?

Cheers

I think you must have aligned the dish somewhere inbetween D1&D2 to be able to pick up both satellites.  The dual LNB that sky puts on is to be used between D1 & C1, not D2.  I would suggest going for a 85CM+ dish with a wider dual throat LNB so you should be able to pick up both D2 & D1.  Otherwise you could always try tuning in on the 22khz D2 properly, and then hopefully you can still pick up D1.  But you will loose NITV/Imp as those have to be spot on to work with a good signal.

The Zinwell ones are 8deg ones not 4deg as the Sky dual throat is, therefore will work fine with a 65cm dish, which is what they are designed to work with. What type of quality are you getting on the D2 transponders that you can get relative to the FreeView ones on D1.

There are two muxs on D2 at 12644, TP7L and TP15L, each on opposite polarities. GobeCast TV with some FTA streams within is Vertical and UBI TV which is fully Irdeto2 is Horizontal. I suspect unless your Skew is spot on and I mean spot on which a sat finder will not allow you wont get it. To get the skew closer use the quality or BER meter of the STB or get a proper meter to peak the skew.

No other D2 transponders share polarities like this, so if the skew was not 100% it would make little diff.

I just noticed that I was missing 12483, so with that now working, it is about 65% on most channels, have not seen either of 12644 mux's yet

If the skew is out both H and V transmissions on the same freq will be spoilt. I would choose one pol or the other and tweek the skew till the quality comes up. Should also point out that because you are using the dish off the central focal point the skew will be compromised somewhat and you may never get very good cross pol isolation compared to being at the central focal point.

Edit, just remembered you have a monoblock LNB so you cannot independantly adjust the skew of each throat, so any skew adjustment will be a kludge and potentially upset the D1 view.

Good point, Is it possible to point at D2 and try D1 offset instead?

What you should do is swap around where the LNB is pointing (ie rotate it 180Degrees, or swap with "throat" the LNB is connected on) then after you align the first throat to D2, D1 should come up (but NITV/Imp may not, and that may be the price you have to pay :(..).

Thanks for you help guys, that has worked, D1 is better than before with the exception of losing nitv/imp and now have all channels on D2.

unfortunately with a mono block you can only optimise on one or the other, the critical alignment for NITV and IMPARJA is similar but not as critical as the one on D2. As I said its all a kludge.
