I am using a Dreambox 500 but am having a problem with the EPG side of things.
When I press the red button on the remote the EPG screen appears but I cant get rid of it again.

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

That was the second thing I did, the first was to read the manual! Sadly, it doesnt work. Even worse, after calling up the EPG and not being able to get rid of it, the Power-Off button no longer works and I have to power-down the box to get it under control again.

I'm running the same on multiple dreambox units ( works fine ) .
You could re-load to the latest image ( there was a few releases of Pli Iolite )
If you connect to broadband via a router ( use blue button and load the latest menu /image  )
local geekzone expert bartender was selling dreambox pre-loaded - is it one of his ?

Yes it is one of his, preloaded but then he got me to load a new image.
Where wold I get a new one from or do I just select to update it?

The EPG that is covering up the TV screen is nothing like the one shown on the Freeview site, also.

Thanks for your help.
