Just received my e-mail about the pre-order.

And it seems I can "pre-order" as many as I want, just need to go back to the main screen a click pre-order.... Think this is a glitch but if there are others interested I might "try" and order 1 or 2 extras.. and see how I go :)

How much price-wise would you be after for one of these? It would be great to have a unit capable of playing MKV on my LCD.

I'm also very keen to get a dvb-s dreambox of some kind.

I paid $282.87 NZ dollars last month for mine.

It arrived within 2 weeks of the pre order invite.

I did think about ordering multiple units but did note that there was a line like If orders exceed demand Popcorn hour reserves the right to validate single orders at the expense of multiple orderr (Or something to that point).

I might pay to do multiple single orders instead of one bulk order - Take the hit on freight.

I paid $280 I think. Depends on the exchange rate at the time. Does play mkv files fine (well with the latest firmware, there is no audio!! but if you step back and start again, the sound appears). I like the machine (use it in conjunction with MyiHome, the free http server that Syabas write) and so far the only disappointment is that it cannot play the HD DVB-T broadcasts we have in NZ now - it cannot decode the HE-AAC LATm audio. But apparently that will be remedied in a firmware release in about June/July?

I don't think the PCH processor has a SATA connector on it.

However I saw on their site that people had bought a PIDE to SATA converters and then modded the side of their PCH's to have SATA connectors on the side... not hotplug, but from the sounds of it works well.

That is the point BarTender is making. When you register you go into the queue for one. When your name reaches the top they send you an email inviting you to purchase. That could take weeks or even months!  BarTender has got the email and says he can order more than one. So is offer is on the table

Well it was on the table (only for 3 days), no longer there... When you have been sent the e-mail you have 3 days to make the purchase the option to order it's on the main page down the bottom "Pre-Order", just above the specs.

I ordered my PCH, so hopefully it will turn up in a few weeks or so.  Didn't order any more as there wasn't interest... Case closed really.

You can now go to the popcornhour web site and order it now.  No invite required.  I've had two invites in the past week..

One thing that erks me with this  is when I sometimes play files with AC3 audio they won't play  one after another with sound. Pix is fine . Also some times if I play an  Apple movie trailer followed by a HD file with AC3 no audio.  I have to power and one to get the file to play correctly.
Though in saying the above , it's a great player for the money..

Never had that problem. But with the firmware release prior to the current if I skipped through a MKV file (with AVC video and AC-3 audio) it would lose audio and I would have to restart which is  real pain. Now with the latest firmware I can skip through a video fine and not lose audio. I am using the MyiHome http server to serve up content.

Thanx.  That sounds like my problem.  Time to update  the SW again..

Everytime I do this I get whate knuckes waiting to see if it will reboot again and come back after seeing some of the horror stories in the NMT support forum..
