Looking for a Chromecast and found these on eBay http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/For-Google-Chromecast-2-Chrome-Cast-Digital-Media-Video-Stream-HD-TV-WiFi-HDMI-/201898721645?nav=SEARCH

Had anyone bought one? Are they legitimate?

Yeah, looks legit, probably a refurb. I got a refurbished second gen one from Walmart in the US for a similar price in January.

I get warnings about the wireless when setting up a US sourced chromecast in the app, not sure what it will miss out on since I have put my wifi back onto non DFS channels since so many other things I have wont connect, but it is something to be aware of with the google chromecasts that they do seem to have a US version of the hardware.

What version Chromecast do you have? My first gen Chromecast I bought from Amazon with US plug before they were available in NZ, had to go through YouShop, and I've never had any firmware WiFi issues.

Yeah that's odd 2 out if 3 of my Chromecasts are from the US, never had any messages or problems about wifi.

I have 3 from the US because we only have black ones here and I figured that getting the colours would help me tell them apart - when configuring the wifi it has a warning. Not resetting them up to just screenshot it, but this thread here has some screenshots that match what I remember - but mine worked ok unlike the guy in that thread.

One day has got them new for $60 and refurb for $50 today. Not as cheap but if you are worried about some of the aforementioned issues...

We went like this. he went like that. I say "Where'd he go?" Hollywood says "Where'd WHO go?!"

This seller has a ton of positive feedback so might be worth the plunge provided NZ/AUS plugs are provided.

Have you started refund process yet with eBay? Hope they don't want you to send it back.

Yep have started the process

I can send them back if they want, but since they don't match the description they have to pay.

eBay policy is "The cost of return shipping is the seller's responsibility. For return of items with a total cost of $750 or more, we require signature confirmation."

Did they change the title on the auction? It now says Miracast at the top - pretty sure it didnt originally say that...

Do they even have dual band wifi let alone being AC? a 5GHz miracast stick is about what these sell for, and they are only n, so I have my doubts so that is another reason for refund despite being fake since the description still lists all the real chromecasts specs.
