Our TV has been taken away for fixing (I hope) and we have no spare.

Hooked up my new Dell monitor via HDMI from Skybox and it worked! Well, it worked for an hour then it kept blanking with occasional pic flashes. The input is set to HDMI.

Just wondering what is going on. Security handshake missing?? I felt quite proud of myself for a while!

Guess I will have to acquire a small TV as I fear our TV might be away for a while.

Edit:- would be because the monitor is not HDCP coompliant I guess.

Due to the large number of older TVs in NZ with no HDCP support, Sky boxes will try to do HDCP and if it fails will drop back to working without HDCP.  When Sky wanted to upgrade my decoder, I specifically asked them about this and that is what they told me.  So for HDCP to be a problem, your monitor would have to actually support HDCP in some fashion, but not do it properly.
