Appears Sky have fired up two DVB-S2 transponders on Optus D1. Sadly I can't scan them fully as I don't have a DVB-S2 compliant card at the moment.

12331 H  SR 22500 FEC 8/9
12358 H  SR 22500 FEC 8/9

12331 is showing 3 HD services
SID 701 = SKY HD Launch 3
SID 702 = Test72
SID 701 = SKY HD Launch 1

12358 is also showing 3 HD services
SID 801 = Test 81
SID 802 = Test 82
SID 803 = SKY HD Launch 3"

There is also a new SD service on 12608 which is probably a promo to up-sell the HD Service
SID 1205 = SKY HD Launch 1

Looking at the SDT/BAT table it would appear the channels are CA enabled so yes they will be encrypted.

Also at the moment they haven't added these new channels to any of the boquet's so I can't tell what their eventual channel numbers will be.

There was a bit of rumour floating around that the Mysky HDi pricing would be released on the 11th.... which is tomorrow! Maybe they will have a dedicated channel up and running tomorrow all about it.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

i can't get lock on my Dreambox on those transponders, should a DVB-S1 card even acknowledge those other transponders? Or should they be 'invisible to it'?  The SNR and AGC are registering as OK, but the BER rolling around over 10,000, way too high for me to get a lock.  This is on a standard Sky dish.

SKY HD Launch 1 on SD doesn't seem to be that fantastic, it's just showing the Hurricanes v Blues S14 semi from this year in widescreen.  Also it's actually the normal far from great bit rate of about 2.5 MB/s or so.

:edit:  after showing the rugby, they've moved on to ANZ Championship netball (in 16:9, not the usual 4:3), they were advertising it as Sky Sport in between the programming.  Can't see much point in the  channel, other than the "look how great widescreen sport is", never mind that nearly every other country, and for that matter channel in our own country broadcast in widescreen by default now.

Would love to know what the bit rates are going to be on the HD channels,

Hopefully they can make an announcement today, got a feeling they not going to be like the $200 Upgrade on the Foxtel Box
