Only saw tail end but noticed water mark is big square with red C4 that can't be seen through. Might be alright for music videos, but when watching program I'm focused on picture more intensely.

Went to send E-mail to them (not that it'd probably make any difference) and it's only for music or special events can Email them about. To leave a general comment have to join. Could ring the 0800 number I guess.

Oh well it'll probably repeat on sky's box channel (Pity it's not the rectangle channel), but I guess for wide screen, I'll have to get it on DVD.

I agree with your comments, wholeheartedly. If you are going to phone, ask the call be logged, that way it has more chance of getting noticed by people higher up the corporate 'food' chain. Think I will make the effort. It is ridiculous. I definitely wouldn't buy anything off their adverts with that total lack of client respect.

How long has it been on C4? I only noticed it this week.

PS. It would have been more appropriate to post this topic in the Off-Topic forum.

I hope it's just the first week. I was watching chuck, and was looking at the EPG while adds were on and that's when spotted it. If they do something about water mark can live with missing first episode, catch it on a repeat some time.

Bet it has caught a lot of people not knowing it's on, who'd expect it to be on C4.

Pretty sure home theatre covers televison, Find out soon if not.

Will ask call to be logged, thanks for that tip.

C4 have restructured their pogramming team and programming and aligned with TV3 to be more "mainstream" rather than music.  That's why it has moved to channel 12 on Sky.  I'd say watch out for more changes.

They should never have turned the old TV4 into a music channel to begin with.

I'm nearly through this series in 720p x264 downloaded via bitorrent - no bad watermark apart from a really small SciFiHD logo. Yet another reason to download TV. No adds, widescreen, HD, DD5.1 Plus the fact that I had the whole series weeks ago.

More on topic though - C4 are the worst when it comes to logos for the music program playing i.e. blender or technologic etc along with a giant C4 logo - theres hardly any screen left for the videos!

The Warehouse has (my local one anyway) season1, 2 and 3 DVDs for a pretty reasonble cost, gets around all those silly issues.

My parnter and I are addicted to Battle star, we are reviewing the whole series to date (again) hanging out for season 4 which is hopefully being released later this year.

Battlestar Galactica just started last week on C4. And, it picks up where it left off on TV3.

As for the watermark, I find it rather unintrusive as it's see-through.

C4 have pushed BSG quite a bit over the last month. My partner got hooked watching season 2 on the box (sky 1) and also season 4 on torrent so she is putting the pieces together watching season 3 on C4. It is a pity it has taken so long to show it. The DVD was released at the start of the year (weekend spent indoors watching all the episodes) and the box showed season 2 just before season 3 on C4.
BSG must be the best sci fi currently on the telly.

I wonder if the sci fi channel noise has stirred things up a bit. Torchwood has finally made an appearance after lying in the TVNZ vaults for 18months

What I don't like about the watermark is how far up into the picture it is, rather than down in the corner more.

I watched the last  of the current US series last nite in 720P.  I appeared to be very grainny to me  compared to the prevouse eps.  I've seen better SD caps.

By the way have you seen any 720P caps of SG Atlantis series 5  yet??

All of Season 4 will not be released in this, or any part of the world until probably at least '09, they finished up to the mid season break in the US a couple of months ago, but production of the remaining episodes got held up in the writers strike.
We are likely to get a couple of two parter stand alone episodes (c.f Razor), but the conclusion to the cliffhanger is gonna be a long time between drinks.

I got all three seasons from the library. Short of HD torrents that's the best way to view in NZ. No downloads, widescreen, 5.1 sound, extras, commentaries, all for $5 a season.

I can wait a long time for S4. Apparently Razor is out on DVD in NZ next month?

I think its actualy filmed that way. They also use filters to dull the colours and make it look "dark and gritty"

Probably the best x264 TV I've seen is Heroes season one - really nice picture. I also watched Jumper (movie) on the weekend ripped from HDDVD and that was fantastic.

I found the watermark intrusive. It is to high up. Maybe it is for those that are still on 4:3 screens so they can still see it.

I have not watched any of the previous series. First episode I have watched was last night. I found it hard to get into, took a while to work out who was who (still not 100% sure).

The lighting was strange, very bright patches and very dark patches. I realise they are trying to make it feel right but I thought it was a bit much and distracted from the story. My wife said it looked like a documentry.

I thought is was ok and expect that once I get into it things will be explained and it will be enjoyed more. There was very little action which surprised me but at least there was plenty of story to get use to the actors and they seemd to be very good.

Beg or Borrow copies of seasons 1 and 2 on DV, this will make the watching of the frist part of season 3 sooo much more understandable, there is a whole lot of back story that is important and while you will get the important stuff in flashbacks, this series does actually treat the viewer as an adult and expects them to know what is going on, rather than spoon feeding it all to them.
