I just discovered Squeezecenter - this is perfect for my needs at the office. All the functionality is perfect.

I currently have it running on my HP laptop, with Softsqueeze running on the same laptop plus my Macbook as clients.

Sometimes the Macbook sounds a little out of sync, but going to the next track or 'Syncing' the players works.

Is this problematic for others? We want 5 or 6 clients going at once.

It will be running on probably a Core2Duo box that will do nothing but iTunes/Squeezecenter, and we have a decent network here.

Any input?

I have Squeezecenter running on a Windows Home Server box, with a Logitech Squeezebox client over Wi-Fi and my laptop running the Squeeze client... No problems here.

Looks like we have settled on the following for our Cisco controlled 100Mbps LAN with a Netgear WGR614v WiFi AP:

PC dedicated to running XP/iTunes/SqueezeCenter w/1GB RAM, C2D or similar.

Workstations 1 and 2 - Softsqueeze + Logitech Z-2300 2.1 Speakers
Workstations 3 and 4 - Softsqueeze + Logitech Z-4 2.1 Speakers
Kitchen/staffroom/deck - Squeezebox Classic via WiFi + Sharp Mini System

Is this likely to soak up much bandwidth on the LAN?

Squeezecenter was streaming through to Softsqueeze flawlessly on my ADSL VPN tonight too...
