I have a motorolla DTH335-4 decoder,
Im just wondering if I can use a scart to component cable with this decoder?

I currently have the standard scart to rca from the decoder going to dvd recorder, then component to plasma tv

DTH335-4, Yes most definitely, if you go into the SCART setup menu you will find there is an option for component in the TV SCART setup, immediatly after that it will also ask the VCR SCART setup, you can only set that to composite. You can select the component out of the TV SCART anytime you like as it does not effect the composite output which is sent on the TV scart as well as component if selected.

Do sky carry these cables?
Or is it best to go and buy one from a shop?
And will it have a noticable difference to the picture?

Sky carry them, they may not even charge you for them. No harm in trying.

I rocked on up to their office, and scored myself a component cable for my decoder at no extra cost.

Personally yes I think moving to Component is well worth the effort with a digital panel display, even with Skys lower bit rates. If you go to Skys city outlet shop they should supply you with a cable gratis, but no guarantee. Otherwise Jaycar WQ7255 for around $49 or DSE do have SCART adaptors that will get the component out on RCAs for you for around $16.

I will try the sky office first. Im assuming its the one in Mt Wellington?
If not then I will head out to jaycar next week

I called sky customer services this morning, And was told they had scart to component at the Mt wellington store.

Went in this morning but was told they dont have them. The the csr emailed someone who looks after these things, and they are going to mail me a lead next week. :)

The sky one is only $19 if they do charge you for it, and its not a bad quality one either.
