Are there any Sound Bars that come with built in Google Assistant?

I've been looking everywhere.... can't find anything, other than smart speakers.

LG Sound bars do depending on what model you get.

Just be aware Google Assistant is not officially available in NZ.
It was ‘coming’ to NZ by October 2018 (nope), then December 2018 (nope), then April 2019 (nope), you get the picture.
It’s not that GA doesn’t work here, just that it requires work-arounds.

Just like my 2018 LG TV, LG sound bars are capable of it overseas, but still waiting for the firmware upgrade here.

No, it's me that should apologise. I didn't see your post before putting mine up. It was more a dig at LG, who have been promising the TV update since early last year. Your soundbar may well be like my TV. Capable of GA. Just not yet.

Same here with LG TV , Would be handy if it worked that's for sure, Would also be good if siri worked on my apple tv 4k but not holding my breath for that either lol.

Given that it's just a soundbar, I'm not sure that there should be any regional differences. That being the cast, can't you just install the overseas firmware version to get the capability?

Not quite right I think - Sonos Beam soundbar has Alexa. Sonos Playbar is quite an old product but still available - does not have Alexa or Assistant. Sonos One speakers also have Alexa.

I can vouch for several of the 2019 LG soundbars having Assistant built in. This is of interest as the 2019 UM series of LG TVs do not have Assistant while their slightly-different-model Australian counterparts do.

The Bose soundbars 700 & 500 also have Assistant via a recent firmware update.

Something odd is going on with Assistant support in tech in NZ. I work with many different vendors for smartphones and audio, and have been told that Google have advised multiple vendors with smart speakers not to launch those in NZ before Google launches Home, which is happening ~handwave to never. Meanwhile JBL have merrily launched one of their GA smart speakers with no such concerns and Assistant-enabled headphones from Bose, Sony, JBL, and Panasonic are freely available.

Google's approach of, we won't support until our voice assistance works is quite a different position..

if they can deal with the australian accent,  surely the kiwi can't be far...

Yes, sorry you’re right. My Sonos Beam supports Alexa/Google but I never use it

I thought the Sonos One support was weird, that model can only pair with other Sonos One for stereo sound, not the previous Sonos Play 1 model. Not sure why you’d want 2 smart assistant speakers side by side.

Yep - two Sonos Play:1 can create stereo pairs - as can two Sonos Ones - but a Play:1 (i.e. 1st gen) and a One (2nd gen) can’t interbreed.

The One is a very good speaker and I think a lot of people use them singly.
