I have my TV wall mounted, with my sky box in the office room behind the wall where the TV is mounted. I use an IR remote sender on top of the TV to control sky, but the wires go straight through the wall to the TV. (my living room is pretty teeny so having no cabinet with digibox, xbox in there etc saves quite a bit of room.)
So far, so good.
This might sound like a stupid question, but is there any reason Mysky HDi will not work with this setup? I can’t think of any reason why not, but I don’t know enough about it to say for sure.

I can think of a reason, and that is the IR pulses for Mysky HDi i believe are very short or something, they are known to cause issues with universal learning remotes, so i would imagine some IR senders may have issues also.

Try moving the IR eye around in front of the MySkyHDi receiver window. About 30mm direct out in front works for me.

I don't have it installed yet (tomorrow hopefully!).

I was wondering if I should have considered it before booking the installation.

I use MySky HDi with a remote sender, no problems at all. In fact, IMHO it works better than my old SD box did. I have an 'All-In-One' brand remote sender, it's about 5 years old now.

I remember the original UHF boxes had different remote IR styles that made them incompatible with some learing or remote sending gear. From the sounds of it, the new my sky and hd boxes are more standard which is good.

well, I got it installed this morning. I haven't been home to play around with it, but the wife reports that it all seems to be working ok.
