Hello there, I am hoping that you nice people will be able to give me a hand here.
My father got me a 19 inch widescreen LCD television\monitor from SHARP for Christmas and I am having a hard time getting an optimal view on it. I am connected with the proper RGB cable and then I go to Properties and choose the plug and play monitor, extending it over and then selecting it as my primary monitor before going back to setup one and disabling multiple monitors so my laptop screen is black. The only thing is, I'm having a hard time getting a really clear picture.
My graphics adaptor is a NVIDA Quatro NVS 120M, with a GeForce Go 7400 chip type. I set the computer resolution to 1360 by 780 and then set the television to the same.. although I almost feel I am getting a better picture with 1280 by 780 on the television, with 1360 by 780 on the computer. I hear a lot about "native setting" but I have no idea what that is.
Bascially, I am not sure what to do. I used the NVIDA controls to change the contrast and brightness... maybe I should have done that on the TV?

What do you mean by a RGB cable? A VGA one or a component cable?

If it's VGA the manual will probably tell you the recommended VGA resolution for the display. If you don't have the computer set at a resolution that the TV supports then it will be scaled to fit the panel which results in poor image quality.
