Can anyone guide me how to make a 802.11/g connection to my Xbox. I know a little but I dont know a lot...I probably would use a Wireless Access Point and an ethernet adaptor.....which one's are the best? ANy guidance?
Has anyone tried this? does XBOX allow? any issues to look out for?

You can get a Xbox wifi adaptor.

I have mine setup with my xbox cabled to the switch in my adsl wifi router\access point and my workstation located upstairs with a pci card wifi adaptor and this works well.

What you acn do once connected has a lot to do with whether your xbox is modded or not really.

Dynalink adsl router with 802.11b/g and a 4 port switch. The PCI card is just a generic piece of junk but it works! any wifi gear etc will work the xbox just works like any PC on a network.

I've used Launch.com streaming music video's directly from my xbox (media centre pimped edition has this) and I use the network to transfer music and video files to the 120GB harddrive.
