Posted this awhile back:

http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=84&topicid=56844

didn't quite get the answer I was after as I wasn't too clear.

So, I'm wondering if you can get teletext in windows media center when watching a dvb-t broadcast on TV1 & 2? From what I can gather, it does work on dvb-s

I've tried the text button on my remote aswell as going into the 'interactive' options when watching a program. The htpc is connected to the tv via dvi>hdmi (heard that can be an issue with some settop boxes...)

There is no way AFAIK for teletext to be inserted into anything other than a composite video signal, or the luma channel of svideo/component 576i signals. Most DVB-S boxes support doing this.

You may find a STB that has its own teletext interpreter in it like some of the dvb-s boxes do (zinwell one branded freeview has one that sucks with no cache like most TVs have)

Really this is a dead end technology. Other than the insistance of TVNZ in providing captions over them not DVB I can see no reason to worry about it at all.

Agreed, its just the WAF. She is on teletext just about every ad break, bugging the heck out of me. I plan to switch over to my htpc for everything in the next month or so, just next teletext to gain approval...
